I was texting my wife about this and she said it’s funny how I’ll drop $500 on a pair of sneakers in a heartbeat that I may wear twice but I won’t buy a nice chair for myself. I’m weird on what I will and what I won’t spend money on. Stuff for work being one of the big ones.
Anybody got a recommendation for some chukka boots? Anyone bought Veldskoen? They are bombarding my Instagram lately.
Honestly my Clarks Chukkas have been great. Replaced the laces once and they are still in great shape. I don't wear them often but they have been very solid and they look great imo.
A dry cleaner ruined the collars on a couple dress shirts of mine by imprinting some melted looking burn mark on the collars. Think of how fabric looks if you burn it with an iron. Is some kind of compensation or something common in this instance? I haven’t had this happen before and am admittedly bummed about one of the shirts, which was a favorite. I’m just not sure if I should expect to kind of take it in stride or ask/expect something.
No collar stays in the shirts. I have no clue about the white shirts and it’s less noticeable. The other shirt is a black one and has some elastic under the collar that hooks to a small hidden button that holds the collar down. That elastic is what burned through.
Tryna step up my breakfast game a little bit. This seemed like a good starter to see how I like it. Seasoning tonight so I can cook on it in the morning.
Speaking of towels. Wife ordered sandcloud towels. Those things are the absolute worst. Like drying off with polyester.
I’ve been happy with the brooklinen towels we bought. They are still relatively soft, don’t stink, and have held together (i.e. no fraying) after two years.
I like their sheets and have been looking for colorful towels for a gray bathroom for a while so I pulled the trigger. Also like that they offer these bath sheets that actually are sized for an adult male.
ive wanted to get some stax headphones (“earspeakers”) for over a decade now and that the yen is as favorable as it’s been in like 30 years - i finally bit the bullet on their entry-level setup just waiting on the voltage converter to also arrive today then ill be knee-deep in edibles and music
I think that is their selling point and think they make some without. But they are taking forever to get here. I got one with air tag pocket bc my two year old will find it and my keys and hide them
Way behind, but I have a general belief. I’m cheap in a lot of things like anybody, but I try to spend the most I can afford between anything that is between me and the ground. - shoes that fit my arch and lifestyle (back, knee, etc. problems) - tires for vehicle (a blowout means you can die, traction, etc. all with intention of not dying) - mattress (you spend 25-35% of your day on it) I don’t have a home office, but if I did this would apply because 1 trip to get your back fixed is going to be a hell of a lot more in terms of time/money/etc.
Update may be leaving the wfh job soon anyways so gonna just ride this ol broken bastard out to see if I get the offer.
