How is it an obvious problem when this has never happened in the hundreds of times opponents have been embarrassed in that stadium?
It’s obvious now because it’s getting caught on camera. There have been plenty of issues in that tunnel. MSU complained about a UM staffer interacting with players inappropriately in the tunnel after the 2015 game, I remember a fight in the tunnel at one I went to in the 90s, probably 94? There are also examples with OSU, most recently PSU. There have been several problems over the years, they always get waved off as visitors being sore losers and complaining about it. Maybe it will actually get attention now that a UM player was on the short end of it.
There has never been an incident of a bunch of players stomping on a single opposing player. That isn’t football. It has nothing to do with the tunnel or the stadium. It’s assholes that should be in jail.
Might as well narrow it down to there’s never been an injured UM player leaving the field early instead of celebrating with his team get stomped on after a 29-7 UM win over MSU happen in that tunnel. There have been several physical altercations in that tunnel over the years, there have been numerous instances of players needing to be separated by staff and security in that tunnel. Just because it’s never escalated to this point, doesn’t mean there haven’t been other issues and even as recently as 2 weeks ago another coach said it needed to be addressed before something worse happened. I agree that there’s at least 2 MSU players from that video that shouldn’t be wearing a uniform anymore, I’m not condoning their actions at all, whatever happens to them from a legal perspective and anything else, is well deserved. I’m simply pointing out that there have been numerous issues with players and teams in that tunnel before over the years, this happens to be the worst of them, I’d imagine if this had happened before, UM actually would have done something about it.
Can I get some stadium blueprints posted ITT to determine the feasibility of building another tunnel? Tia
Lol where was the dude stomped? This isn’t fucking George Floyd, it’s a rivalry game and your boy got no repercussions other than embarrassment.
A lot of: this is not okay…. but. Imagine trying to blame a stadium or a kid for getting jumped by 5-6 dudes.
Seems to me that nobody has any idea how this situation came to pass. Maybe it's "Shitty UM player talking shit after game gets what he deserves". I see nothing but a video that has started after a fight is already in progress. Society today has a bad case of "I believe every stupid fucking thing somebody tweets." Not implying you personally, but it's such a constant refrain anymore, only to later be made to look foolish, that I usually wait to find out what actually happened.
Interacting is a far cry from 20+ players assaulting a single opposing player while police stand idly by. It's incredible that you are victim blaming in 2022.
If that video is all you know its deplorable that you are encouraging the beating of a completely subservient individual.
We've watched them in this thread. You should be excited, the LOIC should benefit the program greatly.
WTF? Nowhere did I say you "should" get assaulted. Some of you guys need to get a grip on fucking actual reality.
Yes. Feel free. But, of course that will never happen, because this is just all rhetorical bullshit, like almost everything online . Feel free to pass judgement over a 10 second video clip with no context. In the end, it means nothing and all your angst will amount to nothing, because, like me, nobody cares what you think.
I’m sure most people dont care what i think. they shouldnt either. but you’re in here acting tough and answering people, so i’m sure you care.
If the michigan player did anything egregious, you think it would have come out since this literally happened in front of reporters From Detroit News "At least two other Michigan State players, safety Angelo Grose and defensive end Zion Young, were seen by a Detroit News reporter throwing punches at the player who appeared to be McBurrows."
well the first part is true for 99.9% of people on earth. It still doesnt explain why a fake tough guy like you, are in here arguing with everyone about something you dont care about.
Boredom. I had to be up early today. But you carry on wrapping your life up in this. I'm sure it'll pay off for you in the long run. As a fan of neither team, it means zero to me. In fact, I have no idea why I got an alert to this thread. I thought it was on my home board, since I never post in this cesspool anymore. As far as the fake tough guy stuff. I have no idea where you're getting that from. Assaults like this, and much worse, happen all the time. I don't like it at all but these types of tweets seem to always end up with a bunch of hot takes looking stupid after a couple days. Maybe this one won't and this poor soul just got dragged into the tunnel against his will and beaten. If so, I hope that all the guilty parties get prosecuted. I was honestly offering more of a commentary on our constant leap to believe every tweet we see, than on this particular incident. I'll bow out now and let you have the last word.
could something else have happened before? yes. Do i or anyone else here know? no. but i fail to see how theres an issue with saying “wait. thats assault. we cant have that” no matter what the fuck let to it. Im all for shit getting heated on the field etc. but theres nothing wrong with drawing a line with actual assault.
Why do I get the feeling Mike is a racist bootlicker that is quick to justify police brutality of minorities.
After watching multiple replays I have come to the conclusion that the Michigan player deserved it. If anyone is getting suspended it should be him.
thats for the most part what they did yesterday. Extra security was there at half time and Michigan waited a good bit for State to get into their locker room. After the game, 1 injured player should be able to go to the locker without requiring a security service detail for fear of getting assaulted.
If only this issue was highlighted before hand so preventive measures could be taken to avoid this type of thing.
All peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were banned, the only other problems needing removal have like $90 million buyouts
None of this stuff happens when we play Notre Dame Spoiler because we don’t consider Notre Dame a rival
