Saw the shark video on Twitter, and apparently he was yelling for his dad to help him during the attack. That poor man will be haunted by that for the rest of his life.
Why was he in the water? Unless it was an accident you have to wonder if he just did not fulfill his destiny or in modern terms, fucked around and found out.
This is this large culture across the entire world where people enjoy being in the water. Swimming, surfing, playing the waves...cooling off etc
From the article I read he wasn’t that far off the beach. That being said after something knocked me off my feet in chest deep muddy water off the Georgia coast I don’t go out past my waist anymore really
Yeah he doesn’t look that far out when the video opens you see the beach. Swimming under overcast skies in what doesn’t appear to be very clear water isn’t super smart. Might as well had been swimming at dusk.
Don’t most happen in like waist deep water? That’s where the surf is and they’re swimming along looking for fish and then they see your white foot “flash” like a fish and grab it. we don’t get as many on the gulf coast because our water is much clearer. There are tons of sharks here, but the Atlantic side is rougher and churned up more (also has way more big rivers dumping into them which keep them muddier)
Although you can also just be very unlucky https://www.tampabay.com/archive/20...gered-feeding-shark-to-attack/?outputType=amp
I bet 95%+ people stick to waist deep water or shallower. So yeah, bulk majority of shark attacks probably occur there.
Then please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to. Don't go chasing waterfalls, or sharks.
“Looks” to me like he’s got his feet on the bottom and there isn’t enough deep water for the shark to fully submerge both. I am surprised shark fully committed. They tend to take a bite, figure out we don’t have much meat and move on. The guy out there didn’t look like the biggest of bites.
this is crazy and reminds me of the mountain video where two people fall all the way down a mountain Spoiler serious but stable condition
Someone at work was asking me to approve funding for a new pressure washer and it had to have heat and a really high GPM/PSI. I don't know shit about pressure washers, but the numbers they wanted seemed insane to me, so I asked for an explanation as to why they'd need something like that. Their response was cleaning up dead bodies from people jumping off a parking garage. I hope NYC has a deluxe pressure washer.
Doing exactly what the victim was probably doing. Life is a simulation that was some video game looking shit. I’m done with Internet for the night. Everyone be safe. I want to add how disgusting and pathetic we are as a society to pull the phones out and record someone in the most vulnerable situation possible. That’s someone’s family member and now they have worry they’ll stumble upon their loved ones insides on the street. Sorry for the rant.
Apparently a 70-yr old retired teacher who was trying to cross the street. Pretty fucking terrible that there’s a video of the aftermath :( https://www.nydailynews.com/new-yor...0230608-2ogyrjzxjjbd7j2rxmvlm66o34-story.html
While you might be right in some cases, I think you're severely underestimating how stupidly unaware people can be to their surroundings.
