funny enough, just poured this one. I might be able to help out, I’ll ask my coworker tomorrow, he lives in Utah and got some Act 11 already.
I don't believe all headlines but that's pretty fucking damning, guess out of the rotation. We had a good run. Probably gonna switch to crown black as my weekday drink so I can sleep whiskey.
That's usually what it is on Brown-Forman products. I never could place it until someone said it and now it's all I can think about when drinking Old Forester or JD products.
Just saw these this morning and checked the website. Already sold out. Hopefully they did make a ton of it this year.
I read something like 180,000 bottles. That's quite a lot for a limited release. To be honest I'm not sure it's worth the price anymore. It's $150 for a bottle now.
Apparently they’ve run out of all the sourced that made it special, if what I read is correct it’s a lot younger now.
Anyone else still have it open? I really want another opinion, someone tell me I’m crazy for tasting cherry.
How many bottles do you guys typically have open at once? I rarely leave a bottle unopened for very long.
I only have maybe 5-10 and those are mostly duplicates of ECBP or something like that. Granted I had kind of quit bourbon for a long time and only got back into it last year.
I probably have about 200 bottles open. I pretty much open it as soon as I get it. I'm sure people will say it ruins it, doesn't stay good that long and my answer is "shut up nerd." A lot of times if I get something good/rare I'll open it in the store and pour it for whomever wants to try it, that way they know I'm not flipping it and they appreciate it and are more likely to sell me more allocated stuff at MSRP
don't mean to hijack this thread, but where around ATX do you go for bourbon hunting? anywhere in particular?
I haven’t tried it since I first opened it. I recall not caring for it too much, but a lot of times that changes a year later. Will try it again soon.
If any of my other ATX peeps wanna know I'll DM, I just don't want to put names and everything out in public
I do the same. I get something and I'm ready to try it immediately. Side note, finally found the JDSBBPR (ridiculous abbreviation) and grabbed a single barrel Still Austin that I'm excited to try.
