If you see the Still High Rye Bourbon its really good. The Still Cask Strength rye is good, not amazing. pperc convinced me to buy a bottle of their spooky whiskey so I'm picking that up on monday, we'll see how it is. https://shop.stillaustin.com/produc...TSalDG2Rixvn_ghdQF5FrTqfTjCWWKHeQHTew=.SPc3KT
I don't make it down to Austin as much as I used to but I need to come down and check out all the new stuff that's popped up. You ever been to Whiskey Tribe guys place?
Buddy gave me this today. Found it in an old house. I don't really know how old it is but thought it looked pretty cool.
what kind of psycho buys bourbon and doesn't drink it. I have a strong urge to immediately taste the delicious bourbon I just bought. 100% of bottles are opened.

I forgot to even register this year because I've completely given up on bourbon hunting in Alabama. Their monthly releases totally killed all the fun and made it worse, now I don't even bother to think about even the annual one
I keep hoping for the decline of bourbon interest from the taters, but every week I feel like the line gets longer to maybe get a shot at Buffalo Trace. I don't hunt at all anymore, just drink what I enjoy and enter lotteries with zero expectations.
what has seemed to happen is the taters aren’t buying the marketing anymore, my local spots are full of non bt bourbon of every type now
It doesn't help that they are insanely over priced. I'd hesitate on Kentucky Owl at $80. Most times I see it, it's for north of $150.
Too many new labels have tried to get in at the 70-150 range without a product that's worth it. Blue Run is the same thing, 10 iterations of Smoke Wagon, Calumet, Penelope, I could go on and on. Sure there are a few good offerings in there, but most of the time it's not. Combine that with brands starting to price their premium products at secondary pricing and it's doing strange things to the market.
Speaking of Blue, I keep forgetting to look for Blue Note when I'm in Kentucky. A neighbor had some and it's delicious.
Damn, I didn't even see this until now. Still hoping it shows up here but doubtful even though we've got most other recent Turkey releases.
I know a lot of people are high on Rio but I'm not a fan of the amburana barrels myself. Also heard the new 9 year is solid.
Rio and Architect It doesn't really taste like ambruana, the honey combo with it makes it something completely different. It's like cinnamon banana bread. It's not an every day drinker, more of an occasional after dinner
I would probably grab one if I saw it purely out of curiosity. That Widow Jane Decadence is another I've always been curious about. Almost like a desert bourbon.
They announced Russel's Reserve 15 I guess. Based on their recent pricing I'm expecting it to be $250 minimum.
Really? Interesting. I'm usually not a huge fan of Bookers or Little Book but for some reason this year's sounds interesting.
Oh I didn't realize. I thought they only did one a year. I guess the most recent one is the one I thought sounded interesting. Number 7.
I now of course can't find the info on the other one so I'm probably very wrong, but yeah number 7 looks awesome
