Had friends over and got a bit carried away. This was only about 2/3 of what was consumed.

How did you like the Four Roses? Is it worth doing something stupid to get one? I had the 125 years ago and it still lives rent free in my head.

Anyone pick up that new batch of Fortuna? I saw it on Shared Pour. Seems like I've heard good things about it but I don't know much about it.

 

It's like $70 for 3yr old distillate.

 

And that's why I ask you guys first. No thanks on that.

 

Looks like I'm going to try and get a tour for Old Forester and Michters next week. Heard you can get 1924 at Old Forester right now with a tour.

Maybe I'll get lucky and Michters will have something.

Yeah that's what I'm looking at. And then someone said sometimes they'll have bundles at the distillery. Would love to get a 10 year but doubt I'll get that lucky.

Ventured down to Delaware today and got Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel Select and Angel’s Envy Single Barrel Select for Total Wine.

 

Correct we did. This is far more aged. It’s very possible it’s the same distillate though. Unknown.

 

What the specs on the RR?

I really want to try it, love their bottle designs

 

The barrel strength wins.

 

Monday through Wednesday I was able to get there an hour before open and was top 3 in line. Tried the same on Thursday and was 14 and missed getting a bottle by 2. First day I was there I waited in line and they had nothing.

 

What did you get the other days?

 

At Michters? I'll try to get there early although not sure I'll be able.

There's 4 old forresters at my store and none of these. Love like 3 of them, 1 is absolute shit, old forrester also makes a poverty whiskey I'd never touch.

115 proof 1920 prohibition is very good

 

Out of the three days I tried I got one fill your own. Also if they have fill your own back to back days and they are from the same barrel you will not be able to do it both days.

I just bought it because I like RR 10 year and haven’t seen any single barrel’s before.
