The Finals was also shadow-dropped at the game awards. Fantastic free FPS made by the guys behind the original DICE team who made battlefield bad company 2
I'm very frustrated with BG3 so far. Playing the normal difficulty, feels like I am at a point where any way to advance the story is a 12 vs 4 fight where I get stomped. Gonna have to watch some videos on how to advance or get leveled up or something. Love these types of games but feels like I was dropped in an advanced calculus world with an algebra education and my teacher is 30 minutes late for class.
you aren't wrong. 5e isn't the most complex system in the world but they just blindly assume you know how to combat. we are here to answer questions if you have any specific ones.
tell us about your character builds What kind of combat are you trying to achieve with your player character and your companions if all else fails you can always fall back on the Larian College school of Barrelmancy
Going off memory but I'm a hunter/pet build (range extra tank) and I have the paladin (healer tank), the wizard (range magic), and the orc-looking warrior (tank) with me. Believe I am level 3 but unsure if it's 3 or 4. Current quests are getting rid of the bug in my eye and I am currently saved in the goblin fortress. I used wisdom etc so I am hanging out there unbothered but I have to kill all the leaders. Can't kill even one of them at this point. Tried the "caravan" quest where I ran into the dragon riders. Got annihilated by them as well. Watched a couple of videos (still haven't played since I complained). Sounds like I haven't gotten all the characters. Additionally, the druid is apparently very good and in the fortress but nowhere to be found. My next step is to play with a clear mind while watching some videos to knock out a quest or two in hopes of leveling up my squad. Feels like I am just under-leveled. Some of these bosses have like 75hp and I think my "tank" has 27hp. I have played x-com, gears tactics, lamplighters league, dragon age etc. so I am very familiar with these games which I think is why I am so frustrated.
I beat all of the guys in the goblin fortress at level 4. Took a couple of attempts but I was able to do it. Can’t imagine doing it at level 3 though.
Update: Currently level 4 and just beat the goblin fortress. Starting in the rafters and changing from Gale to Astarian were game-changers. Once I beat the difficult red guy, the next two were a walk in the park. New questions: 1. Can't find Karlach? Was never able to recruit them? Looked up everything online and he's nowhere to be found and the Druid Emerald Cove thing is basically done. Maybe I did something in the story to shoo him away? 2. Have not met Wyll (full disclosure this could be too early to get him but I know he's a companion). 3. Cannot find Halsin for the life of me...but some online things say, that if he is gone, he will join my crew later, and ill be able to use him. Is anyone able to confirm?
1. Karlach is by the river below the building with the paladin who wants you to kill her 2. Wyll is in the grove/will show up at camp after you get Karlach 3. Halsin was in the basement of the goblin hideout you just destroyed. Could still be there, could be back at the grove now, could be dead.
The Finals is good fun. And I don’t even like arena shooters. Turn off cross play. Apparently PC is filled with Chinese cheaters.
Yeah, I killed Karlach cause I didn't know he was a companion. Cool. Guess that means I don't get Wyll either? Halsin - in the basement? Where the spiders are?
no off to the right side when you walk there’s a dungeon area in a basement where Halsin would be also killing Karlach should not prevent you from recruiting Wyll
Hell Let Loose is amazing and super mega baseball is a solid arcade game with better than you’d expect physics. I know HLL is out tomorrow. Game needed a bigger audience, just like Chivalry 2 did. Plus there’s a new game mode coming soon that should be good for beginner players to get their feet wet with.
Hell Let Loose is a great game but super unforgiving. Give it some time, learn the mechanics and style of gameplay, and you will be rewarded. There's nothing like well-coordinated pushes with bombing runs and tank support...or getting behind enemy lines as a sniper and wreaking havoc.
How much better is the X than the S? I bought the S originally bc I couldn’t find any X’s available but I just saw game stop is giving an extra $50 on a trade in. Wondering if it’s worth trading up or not
I mean, it's definitely more powerful. I've got both and exclusively use the X. Is it going to change your life? No. Is it a quality-of-life upgrade? Absolutely.
side by side it’s noticeably more powerful and smooth but if you’re happy with your S it isn’t all that necessary. Though it doesn’t appear that there’s going to be any sort of mid-gen + or Pro upgrade offered so if the cost is reasonable it wouldn’t be the worst option
I would prefer more of a third-person action game like Uncharted, Jedi Fallen Order, etc, but this looks like fun all the same.
Game looks really cool. Only problem I had with the direct is they were too open with details and the AI reaction when Indy cracked a whip right next to an NPC to distract them. The NPC just kind of stared off in the opposite direction when a fucking whip just cracked in his ear. Hopefully they tune that part up a bit.
Hit 2M concurrent players on Steam last night. Second game in history to pass 2M and the second-highest total in history behind the peak of PUBG. This is without Switch and PS. Crazy. It's a LOT of fun...at least the meat of the game is. It's basically Pokemon Arceus (if you played the Switch game) with more effort/love/care put into it. I think I am level 25 or 26 now so I've got a while to go before the end game.
Yep. Will be lots of people with the same reaponsibilities, so the only choices are to find new positions for them, or let them go.
Companies acquire other companies for IP or talent. If you are neither, then you are on the chopping block.
Nope. Haven't even made a trek to it yet. I've seen it in the distance though but most of the Pals are like level 23-30 and they attack on sight. Very spooky.
Not at all, more open world exploration, collect em, survival game without a lot of the stupid stuff that’s common from survival games
People say "pokemon" because of the obvious similarities with catching/fighting Pals...but it's really an open-world base-building/economy simulator at its core. I'd say it's like 60% Ark/Valheim, 35% Pokemon, and 5% Fortnite (because the game has guns in it...and that's the only real similarity).
Lots of rumors swirling about Xbox going third-party. They may end up making their next console, if anything, a "Gamepass machine" that comes with a sub and lets you download/buy additional games from their storefront, similar to the Series S, but without exclusive games: MS owned IPs will go to Sony and Nintendo too.
