very exited for some new bongripper, it’s been a minute

and i’ll always cherish new ulcerate. saw them live last year and they are SO good

 

this is my favorite album so far this year. post-black metal from Spain, in the vein of Harikiri for the Sky.

just delicious riffs.

Departure Chandelier is probably my favorite so far but tbh nothing’s absolutely floored me yet. I’ve listened to maybe 40-50 new releases at this point.

New Dödsrit is really good. Melodic black metal. Also enjoyed the new Brodequin. Brutal death metal.

 

it’s so good. i loooove brodequin and this lives up to the expectations. instruments of torture and festival of death are classics and this deserves to sit right alongside them

Second album I’ve bought a physical copy of this year. Departure Chandelier is the other and that was a preorder

Last week was a big release week, I feel like what will be three of my fav albums of the year all came out that week. Brodequin, Dodsrit, and Hamferd

 

It exceeded my expectations and I've always liked them.

 

6 tracks 8 minutes. everything but the logo is done by me. i’m pretty proud of it

 

8 minutes? I have shits that take longer. Not often, usually when I forget my Metamucil and it's one of those poops that takes a roll and a half because it's like trying to wipe a Sharpie clean.

frozen atmo-black metal from Siberia. one of my favorite logos.

 

For a specific taste but if you like dissonant black metal similar to Blut Aus Nord’s Disharmonium – Undreamable Abysses from a couple years ago where it’s kind of a horror soundtrack, this is worth a listen. I’ve seen early Deathspell Omega mentioned as well as a comparison.

 

Will of the Primordial is a great album, I’ll check this out too

 

Just listened to this and I must say....

They sound like a bunch of cool guys having a few beers and just having a good time doing what they love. Nothing wrong with that.

But as a LISTENER....HOLY SHIT that sucked. Possibly the most irritating vocals I have ever heard on an album. Songs are fuckin BLAND AS HELL. I don't think I have ever heard an album that sounds like it was WRITTEN in one take. Just bland, lifeless and I'm sorry, I just can't emphasize enough how shitty those vocals are.

Fenriz seems like one of the coolest dudes on the planet and his love of metal is sincere. I'm positive he doesn't give a shit about what anyone thinks about his music, which is more than respectable. I'd love to be sitting there drinking beer and watching these guys jam out and fuck around in the studio. But belive me when I tell you that as far as THIS album is concerned, as a listener, you would really have to be there to enjoy it.

 

I saw when that was announced and at first I was like "OK that sounds interesting" and then I saw fenriz was going to be doing a bunch of clean vocals and I lost interest immediately
