If the Texans offer Saints the 12th pick, offer Payton the right salary, sold him on their cap space, give him roster control and he likes one of top QBs in the draft.. I could see him being the Texans coach. . Win win for Saints and Texans. Hope it happens.
I think the only thing that would make me reengage with the Texans is if they miraculously hired Demeco Ryans.
I think Demeco knows the horrors of the organization too well to ever actually take the gig. He lives in Houston still, but I am surprised he is taking the interview
Brees really talks him up as a QB coach. Maybe he's just the white Pep Hamilton. Good QB coach, bad OC.
It's kind of weird that we have now seen 7 black GMs hired in the last 2+ years using the same hiring system that has led to really only 2 black coaches (McDaniel and Bowles) being hired. I don't count Culley or Lovie in Houston. Good that the front office guys are getting shot, but it's strange it hasn't translated to the coaching side. Especially since it seems like it's been tougher historically for minorities to be given the chance to lead a front office than be a head coach across pro sports.
I know this is a brave take, but I’d probably come out of retirement for $15-20 million a year also. No interviews please, please respect my decision.
It’s going to be Den or Texans I think. Even if he wanted to go to the Panthers the Saints would set the trade price so high Panthers couldn’t do it. As mentioned before I think he ends up in Houston.
This is on Sean Payton's wikipedia page. Did he write this himself? Lol Liberty Christian Warriors (Argyle, TX)[edit] During his 2012 suspension from the NFL, Payton served as the offensive coordinator for his son Connor's sixth-grade team in Argyle, Texas.[53] Payton used a simplified version of the Saints playbook, and the team went unbeaten until they suffered a loss near the end of the regular season to a team that ran the single-wing, which his team was unable to stop. Since he believed he would face that team again in the league's playoffs, he obtained video that the father of one of his players had recorded, and then contacted his mentor Bill Parcells to help him break down the opponent's offense. The teams indeed faced one another in the league finals; Payton's team lost a considerably closer game in which they were able to slow down the opposing offense.[54]
Don’t underestimate Teppers ability to meddle in football operations and do something incredibly dumb.
Broncos going be really embarrassed if they dont get payton after the new owners leaked to everyone that resources were no object and that they wanted a big time hire(harbaugh and payton).
