Scar’s defense will take a major step back for sure Offense will probably also not live up to the moderate hype Seller’s will get due to not having any big time pieces, like rocket sanders, around him to share the attention. Only reason we have a chance at being in the top 25 is because we play in the weak SEC
Clemson will be better than most think. Bama, I still do not get a full grasp on DeBoar, but are definitely a top 10 team.
I think we try and go for it next year with retention, but that has to shake out over the next few days. Our OL is going to be one of the best in the country if not the best. We just need 2-3 more TEs to fill out our 4 and 5 TE sets. Defense takes a hit.
Should be the best team we’ve had since Trask left but if Billy buttcheeks doesn’t hire an OC we’re still inexplicably playing offense on hard mode. Add in an extremely hard schedule again and 8 wins isn’t unreasonable. If lagway stays healthy and takes a step though…well it’s not like anyone else is set to look unbeatable next year.
Had forgotten the gift of the soft schedule Oregon was given next year. Only two trips out east while school is in session (Rutgers and Iowa, quarters system) and never more than playing 4 straight weeks, as opposed to playing 8 straight this year. If Dan just puts down the Barstool pods, he’ll probably ease into Indy. Like that matters though lol
Everyone talking about Georgia at 3, but how about Ohio State at 2. They lose: Will Howard, TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka, Gee Scott, Donovan Jackson, Josh Fryar, Jack Sawyer, JTT, Tyleik Williams, Ty Hamilton, Cody Simon, Denzel Burke, Lathan Ransom
and they'll still win 10+ and make the CFP because they have the 2nd or 3rd most talent in CFB and a schedule that is very manageable after the opener they don't play Oregon or USC. they host PSU and get Michigan at year's end. the only time since 2005 they haven't won 10+ games (in a non Covid season) was in 2011 with Fickell as interim HC so if these polls are trying to identify who is a CFP contender, then OSU should be top 3 and no worse than top 5. the B1G will get at least 3 CFP teams and a 10-2 (or better) OSU will be one of them death. taxes. OSU winning 10+ despite massive roster turnover.

I think I would actually be angry if someone in sports media ranked my favorite team 11th in a preseason poll following a 5-7 season.
5's good for ND. There is a lot returning. Without looking in detail, it's pretty safe to say at least 3/4 of last night's starters return. But the questions at a couple key positions are enough to argue top 4 quite yet. We'll have some chances early to prove it or have the ranking corrected.
The Ari Wasserman play book: Make an obvious point feel like a bold stance + Argue with idiots to the death = Profit
Right. We go out and hire a Kotelnicki and I can at least envision a world where we finish as a playoff team or just on the outside of the bubble (Ole Miss/Bama). But a Billy Napier-led offense is never competing for anything of substance.
noticed the same. The variation is pretty wide. Noticing a trend that the people who tend to have UF really high have miami low and vice vera. haven't seen them ranked near each other much.
Think we saw the start of it this year but next year we'll really see the lasting effects of the new era of cfb and a wide open race
Texas, without some portal help, is ranked way too high. Our WR room, outside of three guys that amounted to a small percentage of production, is nothing. We lost most of our OL. Lost key production on DL. Lost our best RB. We have some true FR studs, but who knows if they can play immediately. Sark wasted the most talented team on years with Ewers.
PSU will have an incredibly thin DL and frankly not nearly as many dudes on it. Everywhere else but WR we’ll be solid but we also are working on the 5 TE sets to combat this problem
Why? Seems like they return a lot and nobody in the acc is likely to put up any resistance. If the defense improves even in the slightest, they won't need to even wake up until the playoffs.
Schedule is relatively easy for SEC slate. Could see 9 wins next season, assuming the offense doesn’t turn the ball over 300 times like this year

Polls are so useless this far out w/ the transfer portal. Surprised to see KU in the top 25 considering how disastrous this season went when we actually had expectations.
