Kirk Barton and Nevedabuck told me Ohio State was going to be a major player for Colston Loveland, Will Johnson, and Kenneth Grant. Can't believe that didn't come to fruition.
Is it though? This is pretty much the same thing that happened with Deion and Hunter, UF and Rashada. I'd guess this exact story is happening all over the country. This one is just public.
Dante Moore telling Wilson don’t come to Oregon? Fong reporting Wilson is not visiting Oregon this weekend. "Still hearing good things about his commitment status but Florida and Miami still trying." Max says: I asked a source this morning and it sounds like it's a logistics conflict with the visit. Wilson has a playoff game on Friday night in Florida. If the Ducks were playing later in the evening at maybe 6 or 7 pm PT it's likely he would make the trip.
USC, Oregon, Ohio State kid's agent knew the players for a money grab, incredible for a kid thats played 10 HS games.
And now with Michigan in the mix. What is this ass backwards cfb world that big ten teams are the bag men leaders and best.
The 247 write up sounds like they don’t believe his stats lol “Reportedly highly productive sophomore campaign with 85 tackles, 33 TFL, 20 sacks. Still developing pass-rush repertoire but has shown encouraging technical awareness. Elite young defensive line prospect given outstanding physical tools and promising movement ability.”
The reports were that the kid/agent reached out to UM instead after the Underwood stuff instead of the other way around.
Sam Petito. Dude knows how to do dirty work and play the game in Louisiana. Remember him with Devonta Smith's recruitment. Smart hire for yall.
Portal/NIL going to help get solve geographic balance by getting talent away from where its concentrated. Good for the sport as a whole to recreate a more national following.
Well sure, but the point wasn’t to try and start a flame war and merely point out that these NIL convos between boosters and top recruits are common AF
He apparently visited oregon this weekend but we haven’t heard a thing about it. Also a waste of time. Nice “get” for the Trojan
Truth is in the middle. A homer ohio mod likely is saying ohio state is about strong relationships and this is definitely not a money grab recruitment. But probably not an accident a school keeps finding itself in high profile NIL driven recruitments multiple cycles in a row.
I can’t name 1 high profile HS recruitment we’ve won besides Smith and had mostly terrible Decembers. Probably paid Houston more than we wanted bc he was on verge of flipping to Bama Most of these high profile are LJ related and why we all want/need him gone and incredibly low on DL numbers unless we hit up the portal. He’s old and delusional and keeps doing the same thing. I’m certainly not crying poor and I’m sure we’re offering Sanders a fortune but there’s no way we’re in Stewart’s ballpark and down to 1 DE commit again after losing 2 and have other decommits coming simply our strategy for HS kids, we certainly are at the top for retaining and the portal tl; dr happy thanksgiving. I’m not hotmic(sorry) and sure this will essay will be spun
You have a top 3 class every year. You don’t do that without paying. Whether it’s old way or with NIL.
the premise was we aren’t paying a mil a year for a 17 year old with little production certainly paid a mil plus a year for Smith and will offer Sanders at least that
Hi -- here are your last 6 recruiting class per 247: 2019 - 14th class, 3 five-stars 2020 - 5th class, 3 five-stars 2021 - 2nd class, 7 five-stars (lmao) 2022 - 4th class, 2 five-stars, 18 four-stars (lmbo) 2023 - 4th class, 1 five-star :(, 19 four-stars (lmdo) 2024 - 5th class, 4 five-stars, 14 four-stars the tOSU crying about player acquisition is one of the greatest memes we have going. If you can't name a recruiting win besides Jeremiah Smith then you're simply not a big enough sicko and built different (worse)
only guy in this class I really care about holding on to, think there's a decent chance whenever Mack's replacement is announced but no surprise he's looking around now
When ND was poking around flipping other QBs after the Deuce Knight flip, this kid’s name popped up. His film is absolutely awesome. Would’ve preferred him over Hebert.
It’s really weird to see Michigan folks owning it while Ohio St folks want to deny everything bc their favorite mod is a dumbass. It’s ok, guys. We are all allowed to pay players and buy recruits. I am very jealous of Michigan’s movements. We are blowing our wad on instate DL and the WR/TE class. I’m sure it won’t backfire.
I will freely admit it was nice to play the "transformational not transactional" card but that time has passed and we need to join this new era of CFB or get left behind. Systems are in place apparently where we are going the pay scale route and sticking with it
That’s fantastic. The only problem is if you don’t win and/or they don’t play almost immediately, they are leaving. It will not be as much about the money anymore. Thats where it gets shaky, you gotta have the right mix of program guys and 5*’s or you end up like A&M.
