While interesting, the ‘only 3 minutes away’ part as some ‘oh wow that is close!’ part simply doesn’t hold up as being anything interesting. It’s a town of 25k people, everything is essentially 5 minutes away. The entire town is basically 2 miles wide by 2 miles long.
You could walk from one end of the town to the other in 30-40 minutes. A car ride that only takes 3 minutes?!? That’s why the timeline/alibis are so tricky in this case. ‘What approximate times were you at your place?’ has an even more finite and narrow window if you are interviewing a suspect that would be from the area. Because it’s not going to take a long time to get from point A to B in that small of a town.

Seems unlikely, the initial police statement was targeted. It was walked back on but the prosecutor basically said it was again in his interview last week.
