I'm not saying it's likely, but I don't think it's as absurd a scenario as you do. also giving up a first for 40 year old is a lot different than giving up two firsts for a 26 year old.
Yeah I don't understand that sentiment either and don't see it as radically different from the way you would hypothetically approach it if he were still under contract. You're not making that move or giving up those assets without signing him to a long term extension anyway and I don't think 2 firsts, while steep, would be far off from what Baltimore would be demanding if he still had a year or 2 left. I guess its the huge money being fully guaranteed?
Rodgers will retire the minute the Jets looked ar Lamar and the Ravens will match their offer, completely fucking the Jets.
Rodgers to the Jets is going to happen. You have a GM and a coach for the Jets that need Rodgers or they are likely going to be gone after the season. Packers have moved on, that boat has sailed, it’s over. Packers could eventually ‘cave’ to a lesser offer but they aren’t the ones that need to make it happen. It’s hilarious if any of you think that’s the play. The Jets are down to one option or the other is to pay Lamar Jackson $300 million guaranteed. If it works for Rodgers, it’s also buys the GM more time after to build back up the roster. Self-preservation is ABSOLUTELY a thing here and one side (packers) are already in on their guy for that. The Jets? They need Rodgers.
Bukowski is like a way worse version of Herman in the fanboy turned Twitter journalist in the Packers blogosphere. Aaron Nagler being the leader of the pack there
It’s all semantics. I’m immunized. Ah I never spoke to the packers I wish we spoke more (but I will not mention that I didn’t return their calls, I just wish they would’ve given me everything I wanted and more to get me to have conversations)
I don't know how you give up a 2 and a potential 1 for a 39-year-old coming off a really bad year who told the world that he was planning to retire a few months ago. And his cap number is enormous. What the fuck?
Gute put the screws to them. Once Rodgers made it known he wanted to play in NYC and they started signing Aaron’s friends the leverage was heavily (not completely) in Packers field. Just had to make them sweat and then you had rumors or 49ers and Titans sniffing around and now you have a bit of a potential market as well. We can all argue if the Packers should have traded Rodgers last year, but Love got another year to learn (and he is still as young or younger than several college qb prospects this draft) and Packers knew they had time. Played it pretty damn good.
Ah yes. I got you. My bad visa I got caught up in the conditional being applied to snaps this season. Which means the Jets saved this year’s first and sacrificed next year’s. They came out much better than expected. Even if A-Rod gets hurt.
Only finalized after Tucker Carlson and Fox parted ways so QAaron, Tucker, and McAfee could do a podcast
Need the Jets to be like 6-4 with Rodgers playing the whole way to get to 65% and then have him get hurt and they lose our and we get a top 15 pick in 24.
They got a 1st and a 2nd that will likely become a 1st, another 2nd and a 6th. But they gave up a 1st and a 5th and Rodgers.
