Agreed, I don't know why her voice shivers like that. She's like a little B PPV type feud for Storm until the bigger players come back in (Mercedes, Britt, whoever else).
Also I’m the biggest Rock mark (read his book and when I first started working out went to the gym he used to go to when he lived in Miami) but I don’t like the order of this at all. Cody should’ve won at Mania and then the Rock faces Roman at Summer Slam.
I feel like a Roman v Rock match will be a lot like Rock v Hogan from Mania past. It’s going to be a match that the crowd will need to carry. Someone mentioned the slow pace Roman works will help. Priest stuff is frustrating. Really don’t understand what they are doing here because they were teasing a baby face split from JD then he’s the one turning on Truth and calling the beat down so… Triple threat at Mania… Cody v Drew v Rollins… Cody wins, new champ, Priest cashes in and takes the title moments after Cody was handed the title. Kind of mirroring Dusty and the garden.
Whenever the crowd gets worked up like this "If Cena wins, we riot", I would have a David Bixenspan looking plant awkwardly rush the ring and get pummeled. Can't believe Hunter hasn't gotten back to me about that creative position
I think they messed up allowing Priest to win MITB and they know it. Just make it a failed cash in and let's move on.
Priest was super hot going into MITB, just coming off the Bad Bunny match that was fantastic. The war games build is where he cooled significantly and where it felt like WWE put its chips into the Drew corner. And Drew has really thrived… I think the cash on Cody at Mania then a short tile reign after is probably best case for Priest at this point
Between him and Austin Theory unsuccessfully cashing it in on a midcard title, the prestige of that MITB briefcase has really fallen off.
We don't even know if any move is bad or not because there hasn't been any tangible fall-out from it in 24 hours other than social media whining. People can make whatever predictions they want so it's not like we have to wait in order to talk about it. one company just sold out nearly 11K people in Birmingham fucking Alabama and the other struggled to hit 2000 in New Orleans yet you're baffled that there's way more to criticize about one than the other?
They kind of booked themselves into the corner with conditioning the fans that it's an automatic title win. You're DOA if you don't cash it in.
80% of women wrestlers aren't very good so at least feature ones that look like stars. Serena Deeb and Deonna Purazzo exchanging armbars for 10 minutes isn't gonna draw a dime.
Other way around imo. Rock vs Roman first so that Roman wins head of the table BUT the rock takes out the rest of them. So once you get to Cody, Roman is peak strength but without the interference. And night 2 you get a straight up match.
If Cody wanted to face Seth Rollins for his belt, he should have just went on TV whining about until Seth got sick of hearing and offered him a shot to get him to shut up. Worked for Jinder and would have been a lot less work than doing the Rumble too.
To avoid looking at the clusterfuck that is Rock vs Reigns…let’s rag on a Danielson match on AEW’s b show.
Simple Drew lets follow along and you can hover your finger over every word if need be because you tend to miss the point frequently: The criticism the AEW mark gave for why he stopped watching WWE is...the biggest criticism people have said about AEW lately. A criticism that weak Collision card demonstrates.
Over explaining why an idea actually isn't the wrong one, dont believe your lying eyes, is basically the past four pages of this thread
you could’ve had some respect and just posted his tweet Shawn’s next original thought will be his first.
so you're saying Baron and Lando Donovan and UncleJesse all have an agenda against AEW too? They said the same thing
The agenda being what? Reality? I've been as accurate on AEW's issues as anybody, the results speak for themselves
I think I finally figured out why you are supporting this decision so much - it hits home for you after your wife turned you into a cuckold
so what’s the leading theory - Punk was supposed to win the rumble but they called an audible when he got hurt. they didn’t want to do Cody - Roman again so they pulled the Rock lever? that makes the most sense to me unless I’m missing something.
No Cody was always the plan to win the Rumble. Punk getting hurt and Lesnar getting his Me Too outing led to the WM change in plans.
I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere other than Punk let the refs know he was hurt. But I think this is what happened. Think Punk was originally booked to win the Rumble. I tried to stay away from Vegas odds. Did anyone see who was the betting favorite to win before the match?
Presumably, Cody was always the guy to win the Rumble and face Roman. That's the only thing that makes sense. Rock taking his spot (assuming that's what happens) had to have been an audible, otherwise why ruin the Rumble? Either have Rock win it or whoever was going to challenge Seth (Punk pre injury). It had to have been a very late decision too, since the last time we heard from Cody about facing Seth he was saying "that's not the belt I want" (essentially). Next time we see him, he's saying "nevermind, Rock can have my spot, I'll just be over in the lobby if you need me" In two months it'll all be straightened out. Rock vs Roman will be in full swing, as will Cody vs Seth (presumably on both counts), but it'll be yet another Mania where it looked like Cody was about to be crowned on the biggest show of the year only for plans to change. Sucks for him.
you say Cody always winning is the only thing that makes sense then the rest of your post is all the ways it doesn’t make sense.
There are a few accounts who leaked these Mania main event matches prior to the rumble… Night 1: Punk v Seth v Cody Night 2: Roman v Rock I believe the plan was always for Cody to win the Rumble with Punk winning the Chamber. Right now our matches are Roman v Rock Cody v Seth the only thing that’s changed is if Drew will win the chamber and enter the triple threat at mainia or they keep it Cody/Seth I believe this has always been the plan to this point…
it’s because everything he posted was reports after the fact and based on nothing of substance at all and pure guesses and peoples reactions to last nights segment. all the guys who claiming things have changed are the same guys who claimed Roman and Rock was happening at EC and this is there way to cover the fact they had it wrong. Roman v Rock was set for Mania the moment he went to Smackdown and asked if we wanted him to be the head of the table.
What? No. Sorry, what I mean is in the argument about when Rock was inserted into this storyline. My point was it makes no sense for that to have been the plan before the rumble, otherwise why would they go ahead and give Cody the Rumble win just to take it away from him, devaluing both him and the Rumble match itself. Everything that has happened since the Rumble makes Cody's win senseless. If it turns out the plan was always (pre-rumble) for Rock to face Roman, then WWE is just as stupid as ever, because that would mean someone sat down and pitched an idea where: "Cody wins the Rumble, seemingly "finishing the story" that we've been marketing for a literal year, and then Rock comes back and Cody just says "never mind, here you go" and doesn't follow through with everything we've been setting up." But that's Bankz theory, so have at it.
Man who hates guesses makes a guess. We're all working with the same limited amount of facts and trying to draw conclusions based on what we're told on screen, what makes sense, what's going on in the background, etc.
I don’t hate guesses. I hate reporters who are basically no more educated on what’s happening as this thread but pretend to break news. As you said we’re all just piecing together bits of rumors posted on the internet to put the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle together.
