Wonder if this Moxley stuff is bringing a “shoot” fighting element into AEW given his alignment with Marina Shafir.
Hangman/Swerve are so damn electric together. Still don't like just 2 weeks in between PPVs, but they've done a solid job building some previous/side stories to where these All Out matches have purpose. And Perry fighting Danielson in Chicago ooohhh boy at that crowd.
Would there be any explanation for Shane coming in other than the TV deal didn’t hit projections and they need investment? I know Tony wants to collect all the toys, but don’t see him getting in bed with a McMahon unless he needed to. Also, don’t see Shane desperate enough to only be a TV character. It could be a hot angle if they do it right.
TV deal is probably already agreed to and the number is most likely satisfactory. The argument to bringing in Shane is it will get them headlines on mainstream news outlets they typically don’t get and it would be a publicity stunt that could potentially give them a ratings boost out of total curiosity. Shane’s motivation would likely be just pure spite considering he was always hoping to inherit the keys to the kingdom and instead it went to his sister and her husband
I would assume if Shane is coming in it is to be more than just an on-screen character, too. Being the on-screen character might even be a secondary role for him like it is for guys like Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Christopher Daniels, etc.
She said she would celebrate at the pool in the nude after winning the title. Still waiting for that photo shoot to drop!
Anti-invasion angles at this point. We know too much for them to be believable. It’s why the current Elite storyline has been a flop imo.
I didn’t when WCW first came to the WWF or NWO. Maybe kids will believe it although I don’t think they would really know Shane McMahon.
Is there something specific about an invasion angle that prevents you from suspending disbelief like any other angle in wrestling?
But really it’s the involvement of ownership. Like I know Tony controls everything. It’s why I’m glad there are no Triple H storylines save for the Rock earlier this year which made sense since he’s on the board.
A lot of the Vince storylines wouldn’t work for me if they were happening today. Except maybe the family battle one.
to be fair I wouldn't want Tony involved on screen in the slightest but that's more of him just being awful than anything inherent with the potential angle, we're getting over our skis a bit here though
A WON report so like usual take it with a healthy sized grain of salt… WWE mad AEW is going to force the Fed to start paying their talents more
Any single tweet no matter who posted it, what account it's from, whether it's true or not, if it's pro AEW and even better anti WWE, Shawn will post it.
Driving to the bank today at lunch time and passed Bojangles. Asked the guy taking out the trash if they still had the cups and my man delivered.
Cracking up at the fact uncle Dave couldn't help himself but to plug AEW in an article about Nikki Bellas husband being arrested for domestic violence.
It feels like we are eventually going to have something really bad happen with some of these fans. The nature of the product attracts mentally ill people (excluding all of us totally normal cool guys lol) and they don't seem to have any other interests. There was the guy that got shot by the cops outside the PC (he survived the shooting and apprently trespassed again there after he recovered), the guy that showed up at Sonya Deville's house with his kidnap/murder supplies, and that guy that attacked Seth on the ramp at Raw (this was kind of funny, but he could have had a knife or something).
The overly obsessive stuff I think at the very least seems to be at a much higher percentage in wrestling than anything else.
