Doing an outdoor kitchen/grill area with natural gas line. Any recommendations on an option? There seems to be a lot
There's obviously a lot of options. We install Blaze, Napoleon Built, and Fire Magic. For the money Blaze is great. Fire Magic is more expensive, but makes models and options that nobody else does. I'll post a picture of one I did recently with a stainless steel blaze griddle, burner, refrigerator, and cabinets, with a Recteq drop in pellet smoker. Spoiler
Perfect thank you. Was looking at Blaze or a nice one with a rotisserie from Coyote. Any preference of Blaze to Napoleon? that’s sick work awesome
Thanks. Blaze has several lines. The base line is solid for sure. The biggest difference in the lines are basically fit and finish, but I have lots of clients that go with the base Blaze line and it's really solid. The Napoleon is about the same quality, but I do like their nobs and look. We get great pricing on full Blaze packages and generally try to go with it.
The Fire Magic is really expensive, primarily because they make models that no one else does, like a naked front with top mount controls. That model runs between $5500 and $7500, depending on options. This cabinet has a hidden wine chiller and refrigerator with attached cabinet doors. I really enjoyed doing this one. My crews do the cabinets and everything, but I still do the countertops finishing. Spoiler
There’s no way I wouldn’t fall into that pool. Zero. I’d be drinking, have some music going and trying to finish up 6 things at once.
Your top ring on the solo stove is on upside down or you’re missing it. Flip it when it cools, or not. Source: had mine on that way for at least two years. Makes nicer looking flames the other way.
Hell yah used my grilling gloves to just grab that fucker and flip it. Wife has been bitching up an unholy storm about how smokey it is. There was some water in it even though I had a cover on it and I tried to dump all of it out earlier. Guess that’s why it is so smokey. Also starter logs smoke more.
Well, now I'm gunna have to fire up my damn fire pit as I'm putting the ribs on Damn you RJF-GUMP I really have a bunch of small branches laying around that need to be picked up and burned, so thank you for the inspiration
Should I sauce these for a house party or just leave them naked. I would probably rather sauce them but naked is more conducive to the masses
Very very good, will do it again for sure I actually think I liked the flour breading the best Made me think a little fruit jelly drizzle over the top of them would be awesome, maybe some powdered sugar like a Monte Cristo
Had solo dad duty while my wife was at a show with her friend last night. Got everything done and baby down by 8 just in time to pull these guys off the smoker. It was my Michael Jordan flu game
Did you save the big ones for today? I had to look twice, I thought those were thigh quarters at first
I wanted to do boneless skinless thighs today for weekly meal prep. Rouses only had 2 packs of boneless skinless so I had to do a bunch with skin and bones. And I accidentally bought one pack of wings . That Meat Church rub was only ok on this stuff. It tastes great when I tried it out of the bottle. Not sure why it didn't create more taste on the chicken. I think you need a rub with a ton of flavor to really come through on chicken. I freaking covered these wings with the stuff as well. Heavy on the seasoning. Random note: I left my thermapen outside the other day and it got rained on and ruined. $125 with taxes and shipping for a new one.
Love the Texas Sugar but sometimes struggle with what it goes best on. Any suggestions from the TMB collective?
Used mayo as a binder on a whole pork loin today. Saw it on a video last week. Maybe just placebo but it seemed to help with keeping it juicy. I'll keep using it on lean cuts.
Been meaning to post this, but if you get a chance, order some of the high temp silicone stuff. I got a couple of the high temp spatulas and they are fantastic. I find myself using them in the kitchen more and more as well. if you already ordered the replacement thermopen; email them and they will refund the shipping if you want to add more to the order.
Probably, but the extra fat compared to say mustard makes sense. But it probably melts off in the first 10 minutes.
