My first choice, but earliest reservation is like 845 and we're old. For some reason, wife doesn't like Bottega even though she would admit every meal we've ever had there was fantastic. I do like Dupont, just have done that some. It's also very loud (really my only critique), although I will say I think it's a step below the others just because the waitstaff is less professional. Galley & Garden is only OK; it's a solid place if you need a large group or event dinner, though. I agree it's not what it was pre-pandemic.
Agree with this, we never go there for a date night. It's definitely best as a larger group or event type space.
Walk-ons got a $3.2MM PPP Loan (assuming it was all forgiven). Hot damn. Looks like Highlands came in second at $2.1MM.
Holy shit, Rib-it-Up in East Lake got like $500k lol Also Paget Pizitz made out well getting a half-million for Fancy's and didn't *really* reopen.
I’d do apps, wine, and dinner at bar la fete. Then head somewhere else for dessert. There is a Gellato place on Morris that’s walking distance, I can’t think of a better way to end the evening than stopping by here on the way home https://www.civilaxethrowing.com/birmingham/
LOL no axes. Also, gelato place is good. I'd forgotten about it, but did go there a few weeks ago. I'd patronize them, too, because it was reasonable price for downtown and we need a place like that.
i miss those TT sours fruited sours must be passé in midwest beer culture because it seems to be IPA or bust around chicago
So, momma is being difficult Anyone got any good getaways that are 1.5-2 hours max away from Birmingham? Like, nice hotel, dinner, maybe do something (something doesn't have to do be fancy). Would be basically afternoon to afternoon.
I can't think of anything that close except for Ross Bridge. Which we have done for a no kid night getaway and it's not bad. Send the lady to the spa and go drink by the pool. It's not a bad deal. The Grand in Fairhope is nice but i wouldn't go there without my kids. Cheateau Elan is like 3 hours away in Georgia and ideal for your need.
Soooooo One Two the denizens of this chat need your help. There is a mysterious "pizza guy in crestwood south" that I see on reddit. You know of anyone running an illegal pizzeria? If so, I'm down.
I forgot his name but I’m aware. We have some mutual connections let me see if I can dig something up
went to high school with him. solid dude just follow him on instagram and he'll post about when he's releasing pizzas: https://instagram.com/thepepperonijohn?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
There's lots of Vapor Ministries propaganda in the rooms and throughout the Pursell Farms property. It's made slightly worse by the fact their logo looks like it was created using a Geocities logo creator from 2002 Spoiler I have no idea what VM does or if they're a bad organization. But the prevalence of the propaganda is odd
I know a guy who knows some of the family associated with Purcell and they have always given me the ick. feelings confirmed.
One of the Pursell guys is on the VM board. I don’t know anything about them or their mission but from looking at their website I’m getting vibes that being independently wealthy might be a requirement for involvement? wes tegg can you elaborate
Need to replace my back deck and/or scrap it and pour some concrete with tile. Seeking deck contractor/hard scape architecture recommendations. Please advise, thank you for your service.
Thanks. Got someone who will be coming straight there from somewhere else and won't be able to change beforehand.
Dude who owns it is awesome. From outside Venice somewhere, I think. This is his first US go at a place and he's great.
Curious to see what the City does with the area around Rickwood ahead of the 2024 Field of Dreams game. Birmingham loves a pageant show opportunity
Counterpoint: if Barves2125 is wearing his lucky “wine em dine em 69 em” t shirt from his 2008 spring break in PCB he might want to put on a jacket
That shirt was retired and hung from the rafters of my MAN CAVE (no chicks allowed!) years ago. Surprised it made it out of Club La Vela intact to be honest.
Heads up to go ahead and aggressively start watering your yard and any heat sensitive or newish plants. Rain doesn’t look like a good possibility until Saturday
I understand that Barves2125 commissioned this article as he is worried about his income from selling extremely mid skunk weed at Saw’s Juke Joint
