Gonna be in bham with some time to kill tomorrow. Any good cheap public courses in the area y'all can recommend?
Far from downtown (relative to the Bham area). It's a nice public course but Highlands is more fun, plenty nice, and has a lovely view of the downtown skyline at a couple points.
After Savage Rob Chubb and I play Ballantrae tomorrow, we're heading to your house to hang out and watch baseball.
Joke's on you. We changed our mind and are getting blazed all day and playing Frisbee golf at a private course.
Looking Live at Automatic Seafood. Grilled oysters Pork Belly pepper crusted yellowfin tuna great restaurant went to golden age wine bar after work and that place is elite
Wine better at Helen. Bartender much better looking at Automatic. Service probably equal. I like the food better at automatic but both very good.
Have to admit I know very little, but BSC on the other hand had a great reputation for preparing people for a grad school experience.
I don’t want to punch them when they’re down, but most of the great things I’ve heard about Birmingham Southern have come from people who went to Birmingham Southern. I’ve known plenty of really smart, successful people who went there and some utter morons. I think it’s like any regional liberal arts school — it’s a small pond, and you can do with that what you wish.
the kids from mbhs that went to bsc were generally socially stunted high schoolers who all of a sudden got super into #fratlife so i was fairly harsh on it until coming back to bham post-college. now i feel very similarly as tegg--mixed bag, but have a couple close friends that went there
I think it's a cut above what you're saying, but at the same time if I were talking to my kids I would find some way to hedge like you're saying. That's a really awkward place to be for a place that was horribly mismanaged a decade ago.
dunno if i have any fellow district 55ers in here but if you are, would very much encourage you to vote for sylvia swayne in the runoff today. travis hendrix fucking sucks
My sister and dad's places are full for Thanksgiving. It's between the Valley and The Grand Bohemian. $900 for the Valley and $1600 for Grand Bohemian. Probably do the Valley again like last year. $1600 for a few nights in Mountain Brook seems ridiculous.
I haven’t stayed there in a few years, but ALoft is a cheaper alternative to the two you listed and still puts you in downtown Homewood.
Went to Helen tonight. I was wrong. It was pretty pretty pretty good. Spoiler Ranked in order, I tried the ribeye, snapper, filet, short rib, pork chops, and a handful of apps and sides. The mushrooms and Brussels were top tier.
