It really is a great book, especially if you've seen most/all of the shows. I didn't read the Oz or BSG chapters because I wanted to wait until I watched them. Started BSG last week and am enjoying it thus far.
yeah i ended up reading all the chapters, even for Oz, which i haven't seen. i think you'll enjoy BSG and you'll definitely enjoy that chapter when you read it. but yeah, even though i had heard about the creation of the show, the extra detail (one executive saying flat out "This is the worst idea for a tv show in the history of televsion") was fascinating.
yeah. whats weird is the copy of breaking bad pilot i downloaded, has the "FX" in the bottom right. alwasy thought that was cool/weird
in the book they actually go into this. at the time, fx had rescue me, the shield and nip/tuck(?) and yes, this would have fit right in their wheelhouse, they didn't want to be a channel of the male anti-hero. their fear was that if they added breaking bad to the line-up, thats all they'd be and they wouldn't be able to diversify. so they passed
half way through season 4. watched about 10 episodes yesterday. I was laughing so hard at the end of every episode because something would happen that would cause me to HAVE to watch the next episode. cliff hangers, man. what I enjoy the most is that it causes you to root for the criminal. that's my shit. All I wanted was for him and Jesse to get cooking. feel like it took forever and even then they ran into trouble because Gus wouldn't hire Jesse. my guess is that this thread hates the wife ha.
battlestar galactica guarantee most peoples first reaction to the show (before they see it) is "sounds lame, not for me" do yourself a favor and watch it
Been wanting to watch it but it throws me off how the first few "episodes" are like movie length. Wish I could get started with smaller chunks. You ever seen the Portlandia episode about BSG?
That's how I was too. Finally decided I'd just power through them and watched them over two nights. Really like getting to season 1 though, since the episodes are ~45 minutes each.
Yeah I'm weird because I love watching tv shows but I'm not a big movie guy. The thought of committing to something for 2 straight hours just turns me off. But I love to have marathons of tv episodes
I'm the same way but because I like the large overarching story lines of TV, Books and Video Games as opposed to the short, straight shot plots of most films. Plus since I use my parents directv account for free Showtime Anytime and HBO GO and a movie ticket cost the same as a month of netflix.
I have HBO GO and Netflix but I desperately need a hookup on a Showtime account. Only got halfway through Dexter and I really want to finish it
Well I want to finish Season 4 like the rest of the cool kids all right guys? Even though some asshole already told me Spoiler Rita dies
Season 5 could have been better if they would have ended it a very specific way. Completely fucked that up. Season 6 was just kind of a cluster fuck. It was an awesome season except there were too many WTF moments. It's one thing to suspend reality considering what you are watching. But that final episode on top of the building, I mean for fuck's sake. Absolutely worth watching though. And Season 7 was incredible.
Just caught S6/E2 (Drive) of the X-Files. Written/Directed by Vince Gilligan, co-starring Bryan Cranston.
Loving these tweets coming from Aaron Paul "I woke up, I found her, That's all I know." Jesse. #BreakingBad "I loved her more than anything." Jesse. #BreakingBad
just watched the show over the past month or so.... watched season 5 today, just finished minutes ago summer cant get here soon enough
