I think we have something going with Ryan and Bernard as clear 1-2. Manny/K Law at 3 is very good with K law getting several carries a game. I would rather throw to Cole Adams after that. Prentice belongs on scout team at this point.
I like the WR room a lot right now, especially if K-Law and Cole are healthy. They have all been consistently running open for weeks now. We also get Hale back from injury next year.
agreed . Obviously Williams is a complete stud but so is Bernard. I think we have a top five receiver duo in football. Ohio State has studs , LSU, I’m sure Oregon too. Are there 5 teams with a better duo? If Adams was healthy I’d have him #3 as our Welker/Edelmen . With Adams out, give me EMan as our #3 and figure out some way to get KLaw at least 3 touches a game.
Was about to say, E-Man finds ways to get open down the field a lot. Give him another year refining himself with Shep and the system and he can be a really solid #3-4 option next season. Williams (SO) Bernard (SR) Law (SR) Adams (SO) Henderson (SR) Hale (SO) Odom (SO) Cunningham (assuming he signs) (FR) That's a damn good group in year 2 of the system. Throw in Cuevas and I think Dippre has another year doesn't he? If he wants it? Same with Ouzts? They are both 2021 guys but I don't know how many games they played their freshmen years (and I think COVID stuff finally rolls off next year since they enrolled post-COVID?).
Had no idea Bernard had another year of eligibility. That is enormously important. We've got to take advantage of that group next year. If you had a competent offensive system and QB , that could be the most dangerous and productive group of weapons in CFB. People are expecting big things out of Odom . I'll believe we properly utilize and get substantial production out of a TE when I see it. I do like what we've done with 81 this year though. Although I'm still scratching my head on all the TE screens/flats. Give me the 5-10 yard hitches and curls to the TE we threw in the 1st half of UGA
If Milroe turns his papers in to the NFL and they tell him he won't be a 1st round pick and needs another year.........does he come back to Alabama next year? What does our coaching staff say? He'd get a huge bag in the portal and would probably have his pick of schools running offenses where he could put up massive numbers. But I wonder if he'd prefer that or going to the draft with the possibility he may be a 3rd-4th round pick.
I think milroe needs to finish the year strong and enter this year regardless. It’s a weak qb class, so he’ll get drafted higher than he should by a team that thinks he can develop

The Red Wolves haven’t played in the NCAA Tournament since 1999, but this is the year that changes. Bryan Hodgson and staff added several key transfers. Kobe Julien (Louisiana) is the Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year. Two others transferred from high majors — Joseph Pinion (Arkansas) and Rashaud Marshall (Ole Miss) — and Cody Head (Lipscomb) made the ASUN All-Freshman team after averaging 9.9 points per game in league play. — Bass McNeese. The Will Wade experiment got off to a strong-ass start in Louisiana, leading the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament in his first season with the program. Three starters are back, and Wade went full-on bandit mode in the transfer portal, grabbing a number of proven contributors: Quadir Copeland (Syracuse), who averaged 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season; Sincere Parker (Saint Louis), who led the Billikens in scoring; and former top-100 recruit Brandon Murray (Ole Miss), who made the All-SEC Freshman team while at LSU. This will almost certainly be Wade’s last season there, but it’s setting up to be a special one. — Marks Grand Canyon, Princeton and McNeese. Grand Canyon and Princeton each have serious NBA prospects in Tyon Grant-Foster and Xaivian Lee, respectively, plus they have coaches who have been there and done it before. McNeese is a bit of a different animal. Will Wade is still there for reasons beyond my comprehension. Seriously, high-major programs that make coaching changes should be shelling out to bring him into their program. He’s an awesome Xs and Os coach who also recruits exceptionally well. The latter can be seen with this roster, where he’s brought in a serious level of high-major talent to play in the Southland. All three of these teams should end up closing in on 30 wins and the NCAA Tournament. — Vecenie Final Four and national championship picks Bass Final Four: UConn, Houston, Iowa State, Gonzaga Champion: Houston Dochterman Final Four: UConn, Alabama, Gonzaga, Iowa State Champion: Alabama Hamilton Final Four: Kansas, Houston, Arizona, Gonzaga Champion: Gonzaga Marks Final Four: Kansas, Alabama, Duke, Iowa State Champion: Kansas Moore Final Four: Alabama, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas Champion: Alabama Quinn Final Four: UConn, Gonzaga, Houston, Duke Champion: UConn Rexrode Final Four: Alabama, Gonzaga, UConn, Baylor Champion: Gonzaga Temple Final Four: Kansas, Alabama, Iowa State, Arkansas Champion: Kansas Williams Final Four: Kansas, Gonzaga, Baylor, Texas A&M Champion: Gonzaga Vecenie Final Four: Alabama, Gonzaga, Houston, UConn Champion: UConn
The season is going to play out two ways for Milroe. A (preferred)-he figures it out and taps into what he was feeling early in the season and we get prime Milroe. We beat LSU on the road and cruise into the playoffs. He announces and gets drafted 3rd ish round. I would be shocked if he went higher but crazier things have happened. B-we get the same Milroewe have seen since halftime of the UGA game. we lose to LSU and potentially another. He transfers out. Either way I highly doubt that he's our guy next year. Open competition with Simpson and Russell in 2025. Mack I have no clue. Seems like he may be out of town after this season too but who knows.
Agree with a lot of what is being said. Except two more scenarios : (1) Milroe closes strong, doesn't get a 1st or 2nd round grade, and is encouraged to come back and improve (regardless of weak vs strong QB draft class this year vs next). In that scenario where he does close strong but still doesn't go in the draft, we may very well decide he's still our best option. I guess you could argue if he closes strong then he'll get a 1st or 2nd round grade. I think his draft stock is highly variable so it's possible that he closes strong but there are still questions and doubts and he doesn't get drafted in the 1st two rounds (2) Some analysts had a lot of good things to say about Mack when he came over from Seattle , arrived in Tuscaloosa , and we got some eyes on him. He might be getting undervalued in this thread. It's not out of the realm of possibility for him to beat out everyone or to finish #2. IIRC he has a strong arm and also obviously is a big kid with the physical tools.
I feel pretty good about a post-Milroe QB room for next year with Simpson, Mack and Keelon (I'm assuming the Dong moves on). It's a good mix for competition and feels like a group that should all have good feel for running the offense (and skill sets that match it).
Mack has that weird short-arm throwing motion for like a 6-5 beanpole. And because of that, I'm out. Keelon gonna start for 3 years and win 2 Heismans. Because Hollywood is winning next year.
Continuity in the same system for multiple years will really benefit guys like Simpson & Mack. Unfortunately Milroe went from BoB to Reese to Debo. Poor guy
I know QB is hard and even harder for an early enrollee coming from a small school without much competition, but if after 2 full years of running a system in practice you are still "a long way from being ready"..........that doesn't feel like a great sign.
Some guys just need more development. Personally I don’t think Mack will ever start here bc of Simpson & Keelon but he could end up being a really QB
Glad we have Mack because physical tools can't be taught and are usually the difference in being just good and great. Always worth trying to develop one of those guys but not a good sign that we really didn't hear any kind of glowing praise the last year. Usually people fall all over themselves to give good reviews of backup QBs in the off-season.

My dive into the stats confirms my beliefs - we are a good running team who has played good run defenses and we need to lean into it more like we did Saturday. We've played the #2 hardest set of defenses overall (Oklahoma #1), #3 hardest set of pass defenses (State #1) and #4 hardest set of rush defenses (Oklahoma #1). - we are #1 in the SEC in Offensive YPP vs Power 4 Opponent averages - we are #1 in the SEC in Passing YPP vs Power 4 Opponent averages - we are #1 in the SEC in RUSHING YPP VS POWER 4 OPPONENT AVERAGES
Damn I wish there were advanced stats that computed luck. We'd be the most unlucky team in the country. We get the worst calls at the worst times. The opposing team never gets called when they hit big plays like us. And for a few weeks the conversion rate for multiple teams was an absolute anomaly.
Also, very curious to watch Texas down the stretch (Florida, @ Arkansas, Kentucky, @ Texas A&M). Very curious.
They’ll drop one of the road games. I think I’d be more surprised if they won out than if they lost both of them.
How did you perform (Yard Per Play, Yard Per Pass, Yard Per Rush) compared to what your opponent averages allowing (and visa versa for defense) against all their other Power 4 opponents. Gives a little more in depth look at the overall numbers we look at a lot with context of how that compares to your opponents to date. Only uses stats from Power 4 vs Power 4 games. Offense - Overall, Rush, Pass Offense - Hardest to Easiest Opposing Defenses Faced Defense - Overall, Pass, Rush Defense- Hardest to Easiest Opposing Offenses Faced Net YPPa Net Strength of Schedule
this sounds like some more bullshit, complaining , and bitching whoa-is- me stuff . we’re not unlucky, we’re just dumb.
How did Texas get that schedule first year in the league? I think it’s a conspiracy to drum up interest in a major market
I don’t know about all time, but in the last 10 years, the list is probably him, Brandon Miller, And Collin Sexton
