Harmon has always seemed like a bit of a shitbag to me, but damn did he make an amazing show for a few years.
Harmon at least has battled personal demons and disorders. Doesn't excuse the behavior but I feel more sympathy to his apology (which I believe was proactive) than I do some of the other guys who were outed and then made a statement of regret.
I think Harmon can be pretty difficult to work with but I think Community was always one of those shows that could only work for so long. I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did.
It wasn’t entirely proactive; the writer called him out on it the week before. I did think it was a good apology and kind of eye opening cuz I’m sure many people, myself included, have reacted badly to unrequited feelings.
He explained the whole thing for like seven minutes on his podcast last week. Basically, he fell hard for her, she wasn’t interested. Dan was lying to his girlfriend about his feelings about Megan. As a result of his feelings, he treated Megan differently thn the other writers, which pissed her off because she would say she wasn’t sure if his attention or credit given to her was because she was good at her job or because he had feelings for her. He eventuLly broke up with his girlfriend and then asked Megan out. She said she wasn’t interested. At that point, he was angry and he took it out on her in the workplace. He realizes it was really fucked up, but he got caught up in his feelings. He also recognizes that he destroyed his show with his behavior and apologized to Megan, the fans of Community, the network, etc. I feel he’s at least being genuine in realizing he was being ass and that he fucked up.
just stop after season 3 and then maybe watch a few episodes from season 5 and 6... but don't go near 4.
I keep thinking there was one episode of season 4 that was on par with 1-3 but I can't remember which one and I'm not going to rewatch the whole year to find out.
The Sophie B Hawkins dance episode was solid and the episode where Abed reveals that everyone’s paths have crossed before Greendale is up there too...the rest was a big bag of meh
So I’ve been binging That 70s Show Andy I COMPLETELY missed that Jim Rash plays a probably gay jewelry salesman. But sompletely different probably gay from the Dean

Did you previously post this in the parks thread? I thought I read it there, and I was so confused bc I had just watched that episode of community. Doing a rewatch currently. Forgot how good the first few seasons are
I did, totally got them mixed up. Same, trying to get the wife into it. She loves Parks (rightfully so) but doesn’t always get the references and homages in Community
