They might be in a safer environment than the average college student on a campus. They are not in a safer environment than the average person.
You can’t test the student body like you can test a team. Exactly why the athletes are safer than the average student. That said, if you don’t follow the rules in play, you won’t get the results, same as it is for everyone else.
Are you getting tested along with your coworkers 3 times a week or more and constantly having your temp taken before you enter a building where everyone is being held accountable to wear a mask? Are you utilizing technology that can trace anyone that has come in to contact with a positive test? That isn’t what the average person is doing. Sorry, you’re wrong.
Unless it’s online classes I don’t see how the athletes are any safer. Plus they’re still college kids and going to go and do as they want. There’s a huge difference in asking multi millionaire professional athletes to stay at home and telling a college kid not to chase pussy and partying so he can try and stay safe and play.
The average person isn't tackling people and practicing football for hours every day, either. Getting tested more often doesn't automatically equal a safer environment. It just means you're more likely to know if you or someone around you has it.
The “still” college kids is bullshit. If ANYONE goes to a party or something and doesn’t take precautions they put themselves a higher risk. Period. Has nothing to do with them playing a sport. I’ve went in to why athletes are safer. Everyone in their bubble is tested at least 3 times a week and they utilize contact tracing technology. This is by definition safer than 100% of students that are living in a dorm or with other students that are living like the rest of us.
Ok. You have made up your mind. Guess i’ll stop discussing the reasonable facts. I don’t understand why people were so adamant about increased testing early on when it turns out we just needed to stop tackling each other all along.
I don’t know but did they make a bubble at Clemson? I mean they could but I know that a bunch of universities haven’t. Look, I’m not arguing about increased testing and following protocols will help not only in football but in everything. It will 100%. I’m saying that when a text comes through that your boy is getting 2 kegs at his house on Weds night and it’s going down that the average college kid is hitting that up. Hell, college age Hoss would be one of these fucks partying with no mask on telling old people to suck it because I thought I was 10ft tall and bulletproof. I have the hindsight of being old now, but college kids are going to go and do as they want. It’s a different scenario than any other sport during this pandemic.
Exactly... but what you said has nothing to do with football. The things I have said about testing the contact tracing technology are things Clemson has done. There is no “bubble”, but things have gone remarkable well since things were more structured and practices started. Not so much before. It has to do with being a young college kid. Which college kid has more time to do these things: guys with practices, games, team meetings, etc. or guys whose seasons are canceled that have nothing but free time?
Both. They gonna find the time to find the fun and honestly you can’t blame them. Hell Im getting jealous just thinking about it. College just has an entire “world” outside of classes and sports. A simple 10pm “wyd” text will have anyone up and over to an apartment/house in a heartbeat, covid be damned.
I don’t think you answered that sincerely, but I think the point was made by your takes on the temptations of being a college student that a player is safer surrounded by others being tested often with responsibilities that guide them away from being a “normal” student than without.
This, unfortunately, needed to be explained to someone with strong opinions on the topic But but the students at parties aren’t tackling each other!!
I don’t know how it is at Clemson but the players don’t all just live with other players especially juniors and seniors. They typically live off campus with other roommates.
Dude... Why are you acting so dense? I told you there wasn’t a bubble and shared my experience with following the Clemson process and your whole thing to argue college football players aren’t safe in college football testing and protocols is “college students going to college student”. None of these posts have anything to do with football or the conversation we’re having.
If you've ever been to Clemson, it is a bubble. You have to drive thirty minutes to see civilization from outside the farms.
Classes started. They’ve been back. What does this have to do with anything? Clemson is just one of many schools making it work. Lot of CFB on this weekend...
They’ve been on campus is what i’m telling you. Most of them didn’t pay rent for September after being home since March and just wait to move in this weekend. The virus exploded around Clemson over the summer and before practices started with no students. 40+ players tested positive and it wasn’t exactly a secret. So this scenario you’re trying to get has proven to be the opposite of healthy for the players. And Clemson is one of many schools playing football now. What is your point?
Well then the articles I read this weekend were wrong about Clemson students moving in this weekend into their dorms. and all I was suggesting is that Clemson football has essentially been in a bubble this whole time. Without classes and without students, or not, the team has been isolated. They’ve been doing what unc came around to
Here's another standout from our fanbase. Very normal guy with no issues at all. Glad he added the logo to Day's hat so people remember who he coaches. He's also tweeting pictures of Wolken with his head photoshopped into a penis. I was gonna say I was shocked he doesn't have a tribal tattoo, but I see a hint of one under the sleeve.
There have been a lot of arguments ITT about there should be CFB this year. Not wanting to be on the same side of anything as Dan Wolken is the only one that has made me even think about reconsidering my position.
Michigan fans in general are usually pretty good and smart (and attractive). But there’s this group of them from NW Ohio that is almost all white trash and exclusively wear those “Smack Talk!” shirts you can buy at local malls.
I've personally never understood the Wolken hate. Seems like every homeboard thinks he's personally out to get their fanbase
That photoshop. Just thinking about having that idea and then executing all of it (finding the penis to use mainly)
I don’t know what the best description is. Whatever it is I have like 11 cousins who would fall into the category. Basically people who listen to ICP, so I guess juggalos would suffice.
ahh so that's why they almost lost to houston baptist Spoiler this is setting up someone for an easy dunk
