Not even engaged yet, but probably sometime between next April and August. Home airport is MSY (NOLA), but not opposed to booking separate itineraries and rechecking in at a bigger airport (DFW, ATL, JFK, CLT, ORD, etc.) Fairly aggressive, but I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of gift cards due to overloading myself with manufactured spending trying to obtain too many bonuses at once. That's why I decided to pose the question this far in advance. Thanks
It's not ideal but it's not the end of the world either. I will be angry if/when they deny me the 50k sign-up bonus for the CSP (they have already provided it for the CSR). Nope, only $9k.
So two Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select (60k AA miles after $3k spend in 3 months) and one CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® Card (70k AA miles after $4k spend in 4 months)? I assume to get the two Platinum Select bonuses one of the cards would have to be in her name? Would her having practically non-existent credit impact her eligibility? I can probably handle the spend on her behalf.
No worries, I can look it up. Thanks. I may be back with questions, but this is sufficient for now. AA is also my preferred airline, but I don't think I'd want to take BA back, so I have some research to do.
That is good to know, thanks. Just remembered that I used to have a Citi Prestige card that I closed in June of last year. Will that affect eligibility for these cards?
Don’t think so but the others would know for sure FYI to all - just read that Citi’s gonna quit the 60,000 mile sign up bonus on the AA Platinum Select probably in the next few days.
Oh. It's a decrease in the jump from 50 to 60 that they had been doing lately, but all the mailers are 65 and they match to 75
Interesting card from WF https://thepointsguy.com/news/wells...t_r&utm_campaign=LAL1CB90_L_23843011310740662 3x on Travel, Dining, Gas Stations, Streaming Services 1x everything else 30k bonus No fee
Looking for a card to run all surprise expenses of a little side hustle through. Paid off monthly obviously. Charges will be small, probably $200-$1000 a month. Chase Sapphire still the go-to card?
CSR and CSP are both solid but look at Chase Ink Business Preferred as well. Currently offering an 80k bonus. Though let everyone know before you sign up as a lot of people in here have referrals for just about any card you might want.
Got back from Puerto Rico on Monday - they have a lovely Priority Pass lounge, first time i've been able to take advantage of the perk while traveling. Was really nice having wifi, comfortable seating, food and drink in a quiet setting Most of the time the lounges are in a different terminal from where my flight is. Not feeling going through security twice, once to get to the lounge and again to go to my terminal.
Doesn't seem like you're going to use the benefits of CSR enough to warrant it as your pick. I'd pick Chase Ink Preferred if I were you. You're not spending any real money so the bonus is most important here and you'd get a big one there. Plus your purchases seem like they aren't restaurant/travel so CSR isn't going to help you there
My car was hit this weekend and it’s gonna run 5k in damages. Their insurance is paying me cash and the body shop takes credit so might as well hit a bonus. I have CSR, Freedom (downgraded from Preferred last year - received Preffered bonus in August 2016), and Chase Ink Unlimited. I’m at 3/24 and got the Ink Unlimited June 16th so I’m not sure if I’m eligible for the Ink Preferred. Would the Amex Platinum 100K offer be the best bonus to go after at the moment?
just downgraded citi AA card where the fee was due to a double cash. ill never use it, thanks for the points though. its also time to apply for another one later today
if you have the amex plat 100k offer, I'd go for it - they've been a pain in the ass lately about minimum spend around buying GCs, etc. so hitting it at the car shop is a great way to accomplish it.
I really need to start keeping an eye out for these mailers. I used to get them all the time and would rip them up and toss them out. Knowing now that you can keep getting them and keep downgrading them after a year changes my tactics.
Well shit, need to figure out what I’m doing wrong then since I have a DoubleCash, Dividend, & Costco card through Citi
My wife got an email offer to csp. She had it and the csr while we built a house in 2016. Do I have to go through the offer to get her a card or can I use one of your referrals? Furthermore I have a csr and old Hyatt but haven’t got a new card in the past couple of years. As of now what order should I go in for new cards? Could possibly hit a bonus every two months.
In order to get a csp you need to downgrade that csr to a freedom. Personally id downgrade it to the freedom then get another csr (assuming your 2+ years timeline is tight)
If you can hit both the csr and csp bonus, apply for both on the same day like we've detailed in here after you've downgraded the csr and waited a couple weeks
Looking at the platinum offer so 100k. Getting married in September and the honeymoon is already paid for with points so it would likely be used for travel next year. I also have 75K UR points at the moment. Don’t work in a client-facing job so business travel isn’t frequent.
You could combine those two for decent Singapore air, British airways, flying blue, etc. Pretty good amount of options. Easier to help if you have some idea where you want to
I have AA miles, anyway to fly American with Chase UR? Haven’t redeemed any points yet so didn’t know if it was specific airlines or not.
You can send them to British airways and book AA flights that way. Or if it's cheaper, just purchase flights through the chase portal with the multiplier if it's cheaper
British redemptions passing through England = getting fucked on airport fees. Better redemptions on AA / BA to Europe - Aer Lingus / Finnair / Iberia
