Richardson has it all: closest proximity to Dallas/
c u @ publix
moving here a couple of years ago, i had no idea how awful some of the burbs until recently when i ventured out because i’ve been living in deep ellum the entire time
but god damn a lot of them are shit holes
I'm staying in Las Colinas for work for 3 weeks and it's hot AF. What should I be doing in the evenings and on the weekends? Currently sitting at the bar at Fuzzys.
this is in las colinas
vampire weekend plays on sunday
deep ellum, bishop arts, trinity groves, and uptown aren't terribly far from las colinas. decently close to a lot of breweries too
saw vw in chicago a couple of months ago 10/10 recommend seeing them
Bae is visiting this weekend so if we were to go out drinking in Dallas, is Deep Ellum the spot?
Or uptown. Depends on your scene. You are right between Dallas and Fort Worth. I might go to downtown Fort Worth. It’s a fun scene. Also the stockyards are a touristy place with good bar options close.
You’re right by my office. The Ranch is probably my favorite restaurant in the area. Pretty good happy hour scene as well.
I used to spend a ton of time there. Food is solid for sure. The Music Factory sucks outside of concerts imo just never really got going.
For Mexican food I like Via Real.
There are plenty of bars with TVs at the music factory if that’s what you’re looking for. Chains like Yardhouse and Bar Louie are there.
But really as long as traffic isn’t awful, hop in an Uber and in under 20min you’ll be in some great spots.
There’s bound to be a whataburger near you
whata is a title sponsor of toyota music factory
I’ll be staying in Uptown in a few weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations for barbecue that isn’t Pecan Lodge (we’ll also be going there), Tex Mex or brunch near that part of town?
Mia’s for Tex Mex imo
I went to Bread Winners when I was there. That was pretty good.
Brunch anywhere should be solid.
High end Mex is Meso Maya. Don’t do El Felix either go high end or to the back shack at La Ventana for stud burritos.
Tex Mex brunch I like Manny’s although I know it gets hate.
Meso maya, cattleack bbq (limited hours, check first)
cattleack is great but i wouldn’t fuck with waiting for that and pecan lodge both
Come over to Fort Worth and go to Heim
If you like cured meat, then you must go to Macellaio in bishop arts.
Interesting you say this, its a place I already marked as one to try. Thanks!
There's actually an In-N-Out closer to me than Whataburger. Never had either. Culver's is the jam home in MN.
Lockhart for bbq
In and out
Good dinner(maybe drinks if I'm feeling crazy!) recs in or around Deep Ellum?
if you want to see Luka you're going to have to wait a couple more months buddy
My boss(Madrid native) will be the one looking for him.
I'm mad it looks like I'll never get Pecan Lodge as the hours suck on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
dots is a pretty cool spot for drinks. deep ellum is very walkable so you can check out a few places pretty easily
Update I may do Pecan Lodge for lunch Wednesday after I get rid of my boss!
pecan lodge for lunch
cane rosso for dinner
I could never live in Texas or I would get so fat.
... don't you live in georgia
Correct. Maybe it’s because every trip to Texas is usually on my company dime so it’s just Mexican and BBQ for the most part.
Braindead has good food and beer.
Make sure you get in a trip to Meso Maya for their pork chop or Carne Asada.
braindead for beers imo
hey did you fucks know that meso maya is on uber eats now? brisket tacos en route
Made it to Pecan Lodge a day early and brought my boss. Maybe this will get me a raise because this is amazing.
Complete shit travel day, but finally getting to a gate. Need some recs in downtown Dallas for a sports bar or brewery that would have food and the CFB games on.
I always liked Christie’s in Uptown. There is Dots over in Deep Elum and Frankie’s in Downtown which will be packed I bet.
Fair Park After Dark
Gonna try Christie’s
Update: Christie’s sucks.
Downtown dallas sucks
