I don't really know what to expect from Solar 3.0. I really like the explosive chaining from bottom tree dawnblade. I hope to see more of that. I loved when that was working with Felwinters.
Happy Austringer is back. That’s one of those guns that just felt right to me. Hopefully it’s craftable. plus I still love all the Calus and Leviathan storyline stuff, so I’m hopeful it returns with some impact.
That all looks really interesting. The Leviathan looks like it has the same plants on it that they Glykon did.
yet to be determined how much of it is actually explorable or if it’s just a launching spot similar to the Enclave on Mars
also the Nightmare stuff (and basically all of Shadowkeep) was ridiculously underwhelming the first time around so I hope they’ve done more with it/lean super hard into the Pyramid & Witness stuff
might just be semantics, but Enclave is a "social" space, not a patrol. Tassi is using "patrol space" specifically.
I’ve only played a bit but didn’t see much to keep me on solar. Disappointing but hopefully I’m missing something. But void is just so good.
I put together a decently fun built with it but compared to void it's just not close. But it's kind of fun just causing everything to blow up. Side note: two more ornaments for ophidian and necrotic grips? God damn Bungie. They apparently don't want my money because I would drop cash immediately for a contraverse or veritys brow ornament.
my biggest issue is the fragments. a few are worth using but most are meh. and only one of the locked ones is appealing. solar was always going to feel less "grand" than void because its a support class. i do think theyve done a good job building the base but so far i think most everything (other than sunbracer builds) need a buff. probably an overcorrection from how powerful void was. overall not a big deal but they have some work to do.
The more I think about it the more I hate it. The aspects are kind of shit. They basically gave us top tree dawnblade and took a whole bunch of shit away. Making heat rises and Icarus dash two separate aspects sucks. Neither is all that good for PvE. Then they give everyone healing nades and take a lot of our healing nade synergy away that allowed us to get them back quickly. Also apparently Boots of the Assembler literally do nothing now since Bungie killed Benevolent Dawn. They really dropped the ball with this rework. At best this is a large nerf to solar (which was already lacking) and at best it's a complete gutting of the class for warlocks. The burn damage sucks now too. Because you need 100 ticks to cause an explosion, most enemies die before you get there or they are too tanky and you can't get the kill with a nade. Either way, no explosions. There's also no good synergy with guns like sunshot anymore. I'm actually afraid of what they will do with arc.
Void build I was using was a lot of fun. Used it when 3.0 was first launched, no clue if it is still good; but it was fun.
I didn’t know Riptide existed until 10 minutes ago. Now I’m going to hate-grind crucible to get one and get a good roll. I am truly sorry to all those I matchmake with.
Yep. Random drop from crucible matches. Got three drops slumming in Rumble with the best being an accelerated coils/ feeding frenzy/cornered.
What roll are you guys looking for with it? I've been using my crafted Deliverance a bit. It synergizes pretty well with stasis builds.
I’d like well rounded, auto loading, or heating up in the first column and vorpal or frenzy in the second. Basically similar to having a Cartesian like in my kinetic. I’d also like to use a chill clip one but not sure how well that works if I’m not using stasis. It’s one of those playlist drops with a stupid number of possible traits, though, so I’ll probably grind mindless 5 minute Rumble stomping until I get a vorpal or frenzy and move on.
Also, I feel like Gjallarhorn got a stealth nerf? It might just be running containment so much at the artificial lower level, but it feels like it doesn’t hit nearly as hard.
Chill Clip is still solid without stasis. It can slow down or freeze a big group of ads. And yeah, same on Ghorn. I actually broke out Eyes of Tomorrow since it got a buff and it's not bad at all now. Hits pretty hard. But I've gone back to Parasite. Especially on solar since Warlocks don't have a super worth a fuck on solar anymore. That thing hits like a truck. Running around farming keys last night and it obliterates the nightmares.
I should try that. I’ve been using Heir Apparent in there and it’s ok. Trying it out with well warlock since I’d stay stationary anyway. Trying to find some synergy stuff to this solar rework. Still experimenting. I do like Calus mini tool with incandescent but it doesn’t synergies with the Solar stuff other than using font of might. But I’ll almost certainly be running void for the dungeon tomorrow.
I was running a GL in the kinetic, Calus Mini with incandescent rounds, and Parasite. Running explosive wellmaker, elemental ordinance, bountiful wells, and font of might with Veritys Brow. Had a pretty nice combat loop going. Both the GLs make explosive wells along with your grenades so I had a ton of wells to keep abilities up. Not sure how viable something like that would be in end game but it's fun for messing around.
