As I started hanging the first Saturdays are for the Boys banner, I read the message and it rang true. So I’ve been at the strip club since 9 am while my family is doing whatever. Not concerned, this is me time
If you were going to be fired or were going to be let go in some way, they wouldn't haphazardly postpone the meeting and they definitely wouldn't without rescheduling another time soon after. At my work, your manager goes in your office and tells you to go to HR immediately once the decision has been made
My brain says this. Leaving an employee you were gonna let go multiple days to stew and think about it while maintaining access to all the system seems like it could lead to shit being done to files or something. Not saying I would do that at all.
That would be the dream. I just haven’t had my hopes up on that with Nissan currently trying to reduce cost anywhere they can. The leaders of my department know that’s been my goal since day one. The odds are probably much higher on the “not bad news” side of things but it’s hard not to stress about the worst outcome in today’s environment.
My thought is if they were terminating your contract you would only meet with people from your contract company but that’s just a thought
I heard Nissan instituted a new policy where they delay the firing several times to check the mental fortitude of the employee. Activity such as running to a message board is a major red flag and now they are going to fire you live on the next global company all hands meeting
Just saw this. The company I work for is looking for a digital marketing analyst. PM me and I can give you more details if you’re interested.
Still no word but now there are rumors floating around the company about there being layoffs among contractors starting this Friday.
But honestly Jax Teller don’t preemptively convince yourself the worst is coming (long story who cares)
Trying to do that for sure. We have a team meeting this morning and part of the agenda is setting FY25 expectations, etc. Gonna be hard to not be like “is this really necessary for me?” lol.
Meeting got rescheduled for tomorrow from 1 to 130. Fingers crossed. I hope if anyone else needs help they are messaging you tegg and it’s not just me in here.
Well my last day with Nissan is March 31st. Sounds like they are laying off basically all their contract employees, at least on the admin side of things. 30 day notice is better than nothing but no severance damn sure sucks. Gonna finish updating my resume tonight and get started searching in the morning.
Wish my positive vibes had worked better for you. Sending some more that you find something quickly and land on your feet.
making him think about it all weekend and wait all week is also bullshit never buying a Nissan now in solidarity
Damn, sorry man. It's starting to feel like we're all just working between layoffs (if we're working at all. I'm one month post-layoff too). Do whatever you can to use the next month finding your next job during the work day.
Gonna be real difficult to get any productive work out of those contract employees over the next 30 days.
Yea I’m not gonna screw over the two analysts that are left and gonna be stuck with double the workload now but it’s gonna be real hard to worry about producing new dashboards and shit right now. Definitely not going to the office 4 days a week now. Maybe once a week at best. Gotta save that gas money.
Sorry man. That sucks. What did you do for Nissan? DM me if you’d like. I work in workforce development and have some connections in Middle Tennessee.
data analyst. Basically been an analyst of some sort (logistics, supply chain, etc) since college. I’m all for any leads I can get for sure.
I was looking for your post earlier to be all “are you a wizard” lol. And appreciate it. I’m sure I’m not the only one going through it now and probably gonna get worse. Thankfully other then looking for job leads I’m not to the point where I have to start worrying about keeping a roof on my head yet.
Tableau mostly. Had some PowerBI experience but then Nissan pushed us to move everything over to tableau about 3 years ago.
My friend runs a data analytics team and their main client is one of the big 4 automakers. I will see if they have anything.
Feel like I’m monopolizing the thread but the encouragement and support is very much appreciated fellas.
There’s does seem to be a ton of analyst postings right now so that makes me a little less stressed. I should have put more time into learning SQL.
