Looks like she picked up a few things from her namesake, Paige Duke. I just hope she takes better care of her tail.
Update: Things are going well. He’s taken really well to the crate training and learning his daily routine. “Sit” is mastered, “down” is in progress, “don’t kill the other dog” is a long way off still.
But we did do some time at Lowe’s this morning. He was the good boy and met lots of cold-hearted bitches that didn’t want to adopt him.
Wife just informed me that we need to get some sweaters for Luca, now that it’s starting to get colder. I am surprisingly okay with this & perhaps excited about the possibilities
My sister bought my dogs sweaters. When it's below 0 outside they appreciate them. They also don't try and pile on my lap if they are wearing sweaters
Sometimes, however it's just a ploy to take my chair. 85lb lab just slumps over and refuses to move when I get up and come back. He's already fast asleep under the blanket and I have to sit somewhere else.
I fear Flash might not be with me much longer. I hope I am wrong but her seizures seem to be getting worse and more frequent. After her last one she has a limp. The vet can’t find anything wrong with the leg. I spent 3500 on her and probably close to twice that on vet bills. I am not going to put her down or anything like that. I just wish they could find a cheaper way to find out what she has that might not even be able to fix the issue after they find out (if they can). I am just trying to get her to live her best life for as long as she has. We carry her up and down the stairs now and last night I gave her a bunch of my fries. Groot was triggered because he got a dog biscuit. My two pups could not be more different in health and behavior. He is a ball of energy I’ll take him on a two mile walk and he will be ready for more whereas she just wants to lay in bed. I love my pups but I wish Flash’s breeder would stop breeding. It is heartbreaking to see my tiny pup go through all this shit. Sorry for the rambling.
A little over 2. She is still a baby. She is the sweetest most loving pup you’ll ever meet. She is a great pupper sadly she has so many health issues.
Really sorry to hear this Daniel Ocean , so horrible for a baby so young to go through such issues. I assume you have told the breeder what is happening with her? Is it a professional breeder? Thank you for doing all you can to make her comfortable, you are doing the right thing, I know how hard that decision to spend all that money can be.
He knows and he kinda is, in that he breeds them to make money. He isn’t “professional” in that he cares to follow proper breeding rules. They kinda breed for unique colors and not for good traits.
Daniel Ocean I can empathize, as I went through a very similar situation with my 1st pup. Wouldn’t wish that experience upon anyone. Sucks you are going through it
My brother had a pup that started having seizures around 6 months old. He finally had to put her down a couple months ago, she was 15 years old. Certain proteins can cause seizures. They first put her on potassium bromite and that helped a bit. They switched her to a hydrolyzed dog food diet and her seizures went from every week to once every couple months. Later in her life they put her on Phenobarbital and that stopped her seizures completely. You don't want to do that when they're young as Phenobarbital is too hard on their liver. Anyway, hope things turn out ok for your pup.
I know in humans male uti are more rare due to ureathra length. Is this the same case in dogs? I'm kinda thinking my male dog may have one. He has had a few accidents in the house. We chalked them up as being excited and still 8 months old. However, he urinates like 5 times when he goes outside and it's in spurts not a stream.
Sorry, 'they' being my brother and his wife. Hydrolyzed dog food is usually prescribed by your vet, at least to get the good stuff. The hydrolyzed protein is digested differently (easier) and can help with the frequency of the seizures if that's where the problem stems. As mentioned, their dog went from having weekly seizures to only having one every couple months.
wes tegg knows the shit I’ve gone through with this breeder. Ironically he is why I have Groot and not beast anymore.
Gus had one a couple of months ago. They confirmed it through a urinealysis, and he was good within a couple of days after starting antibiotics

Just lost my chocolate lab at 8.5 years old. Started losing weight and diarrhea a month ago and he lost 40lbs at 4 weeks. Had to put him down Saturday and I bawled like a little child.
So sorry to hear that, brother. You gave him a great life and made the right, difficult decision when he needed you most.
