Someone just brought this in to me. Retails for $2800. lightly used ones sell for around 1k. He was asking 4k LOLOLOLOLOL
Do you get a lot of people asking for outlandish values on stuff? also interested in what happens when people sell you stolen property, does it happen a lot? How much jail time do they get for that?
Not really. Pretty much that only comes with wedding sets. People that sell stolen stuff that get caught get charged with each pawn they do plus whatever charges come with the actual stealing. Biggest thing lately has been people opening up credit card or business accounts at Home Depot. Maxing it out and selling it all for cash
I’d imagine it’s got to be so easy to catch them for stolen stuff. One of my best friends brother got into meth and just got picked up for pawning stolen property, had like 3-4 charges of it, how long do they usually get for each charge? I kind of hope they toss him under the jail, he’s just blown it despite being given a ton of help.
I am supremely fascinated by this thread all the time. But I honestly cannot recall the last time I was in a pawn shop. /coolstorybro
Depends on a few things from my research...year, condition, original box and paperwork,etc... I’ve seen them from 5k to 12k at different pawn shops...not sure about nole0515 though....
Just had someone bring in Bobby Bowdens 1992 FSU Cotton Bowl ring and Mario Edwards 1998 ACC Championship Ring. He wanted 6k for Bobbys ring LOL way over market value (its worth maybe 3k) and 1350 for the 1998 ring, I offered 800 thinking I could sell it for $1500 on eBay after their fee's I would get 1320 back. He didnt appreciate my offer
Sometimes but its really a crap shoot depending on the company and how long ago it was made. Most salesmens samples will have a serial number inside the band. But Ive seen some that didn't have any markings other than the company and what it was made of. Looked just like what the players got. Jostens also used to just cut the very bottom of the band out on some of their samples. There would be a gap in the ring on the bottom of your finger.
bought this 2017 Strat for $200. Its in need of some tlc hopefully its just some quick easy fixes and nothing major
Any #Clemson Tigers want one? $1150 for the left $850 on the right, if anyone is interested player is insignificant WR Thomas #85
I just swung by the guitar center website to get an idea what guitars cost. Who tf is buying $80,000 guitars at all, let alone from a place like that?
What do you mean? Almost nobody is buying an $80k guitar online, but putting it online gives serious bidders a chance to go see/play it in person.
Yeah if I'm a rich collector dropping that kind of coin, I'm buying from a trusted source and not Guitar Center. Norms (check out his YouTube channel if you like that stuff), Elderly, etc. I'm going to be real interested to see what the market does on those instruments as boomers die off. Very limited supply, especially with burst Les Pauls, but there are a lot of other vintage guitars that I'm curious to see whether they hold value.
David Gilmour auction averaged $165k per guitar 130 guitars - $21.5 million https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ro...guitars-christies-charity-auction-850597/amp/
Guitar Center has a vintage guitars curator who is absolutely legit. https://www.instagram.com/nickconte21/?hl=en
There are alot of Collectors who would pay that. most are going o be hung on a wal or put in a vault and never played. Then you have jason isbell who bought a 250K 1958 Gibson Les Paul Redeye that he takes on the road with him
Just bought these. 1964 Gibson B-25 and a vintage Gibson A2 Mandolin. They are in need of Lots of TLC but really cool items
out of curiosity do you mind saying what you paid for them, what the tlc will cost and your expected sales price. Just really cool looking items.
paid $115 for the B-25 and will most likely sell it for $500. There's about $500 worth of work that needs to go into it if you arent fixing it yourself. The mandolin we paid $60 for and and will take 150-200. unsure on cost to fix that as its in much worse shape
How bad is the shape of the b25? I have a guy I trust that can get it into shape for me if I picked it up. Hard to tell from 1 pic though
Top two frets need to be redone. Bridge should be replace since its the original plastic one. The main issue is there's a crack in the top but even with dead strings that have been on there for years it still rings really well
