I saw someone do a retrospective review of the Sega CD. Iirc it was basically the same game as regular Sega but you'd get to watch these pixelated cut scenes that weren't on the regular Sega version. That was pretty much it. No wonder it was never popular

3DO and Atari Jaguar came out before the Saturn. Jaguar was straight garbage. 3DO had some decent games but was ultimately too expensive and didn’t have the name brand. Saturn really just had the benefit of Sega games but they quickly knew it was dead in the water with Sony PlayStation announced.
