Isbell doing Sometimes Salvation would just be absurdly good.
Saw Jason last night at a drive in show near Asheville. So good. They opened with a Shaver cover
this is fantastic.
Anyone going tonight?
I need to know if Jason walks out to YMCA.
Getting a little choked up listening to Hope the High Road
Rocked this shirt today and got a compliment on it. I am just thankful that Californians besides myself enjoy some Isbell. My touchtunes Isbell takeovers are working.
Oh man I miss going places and making people listen to music I want to.
I was at one of my bars last week sitting solo outside watching football and playing touchtunes. I probably played $40 but it was worth it cause LA county closed outdoor dining.
Dawes concert tonight via Noonchorus livestream. Playing the North Hills album. 48 hour ticket thing. Very cool.
Songs that make you go hmmm.
What's the latest here, I know it's conformed he's an ass hole but did anything come of the sex crime stuff?
No resolution either way there yet it seems. He dropped a new album today, and I assume he's going to release the other two he had planned as well at some point.
Legally no. Kinda like the Chris D’leia situation
Are you guys checking out the album?
I might have this wrong, but it really does seem like Isbell is just taking cheap shots at Ryan over and over again.
They were really good friends and believe he helped get Isbell sober. Hard to believe Isbell had no idea what Adams was doing.
I think this is exactly why Isbell is so publicly against him.. He was there for all of the bad behavior and never called him on it.
The reason I posted that track from Ryan's new album, btw:
Held her hand in Old Savannah
Marigold print on her dress
Her hair was combed and parted
Like a beautiful princess
I didn't see you at the altar
Way back then you were so drunk
You were washed up on some hooker's bed
Behind a shitty restaurant
Bought her pretty clothes and diamonds
The guy was born to be her man
We were more than commentary
For a cheap headline grab
So when the wind blows in your window
'Cause the storm don't give a damn
Pray the window don't break
Across the wrist of your writing hand
On a stationary wet
With the tears of the peoples backs you stab
When you're hiding like a robber
With no one's purse to grab
Remember me standing there holding out my hand
In a broken down hotel in Birmingham
I’m sure it’s his anger coming out at not knowing/not realizing
Isbell is one of my favorite artists on the planet but he is entirely too online at times. He needs to leave that to those of us without generational talents.
We ride at dawn
I hope Ryan Adams didn’t hurt the wrist of his writing hand patting himself on the back so hard
Not only did he whitewash his abusive relationship with Mandy Moore but the God complex in the last line is astonishing
It is pretty cool that Phoebe Bridgers has kind of blown up after she exposed him.
The thing I’ve never understood about Chaos and Clothes was what Isbell meant by Goldsmith wearing his collars up to frame his face. It always struck me as an unnecessary dig but it must not have bothered Taylor because he regularly subtweets Isbell.
Taylor understood the dynamics of his situation and Isbell probably ran it by Taylor cause they're friends
That’s the most logical explanation
I'm not so sure.. Would think Goldsmith would know about how Adams treated Moore. Can't imagine he'd cosign a pro adams song.
Top two female artist out there for me. She's amazing.
Emotional motion sickness would probably be my most played song of the year if not for my one year olds love for baba black sheep.
I dont see it as a pro Ryan song. More of a song of trying to help a friend in need.
Jason is also a Phoebe fan. In one of the videos he did leading up to Reunions he is wearing a Better Oblivion Community Center T shirt. and they like each others stuff on social media. Since she has covered John Prine and Merle Haggard, I am holding out hope that she would do some kind of collaboration with Jason.
But that ryan adams song is, damn, brutal towards Jason.
I don’t Isbell loses any sleep over Adams’ petty “you were a drunk” song
So he is referring to a drunk isbell from 10 years ago?
Clown Baby found this if you havent seen it
Thank you for tagging me (unlike some people)
we know whats up when it comes to Dawes
To answer your initial question, I have not seen that show but I’m watching now and it’s an amazing set list
it really is
My second date with my wife was Shaky Knees 2014. There have been a million moments along the way where I knew she was the one but one of the earliest was her not being put out by my singing along to When My Time Comes at the top of my lungs
its the best encore song. One of my favorite moments was when the Turnpike Troubadours closed with All my Favorite Bands. Norm Peterson and I had one hell of a weekend
I was there.
Hell yeah we did. Front row at some little music/arts festival in Thomasville. What a band to play that particular cover as well. I was pretty drunk but I remember that thought running through my mind vividly.
