This seems like a more ridiculous quest than the ones to kill Shturman 25 times or whatever
It’s not bad. 3 100m headshots on woods, customs, shoreline, and reserve.
Shturman isn’t bad either. Killing killa 100 times after they changed his spawns though is wild
I lit Shturman's chest up with an sks and he didn't seem to care. Then his minions circled around me and lit me up. I can see how he might not be that bad to kill. He seems kind of dumb
I run away any time I hear someone powersliding in the mall
He doesn’t have any armor and you know he’s on the map because of his 3 round SVD burst. The best way to kill him is with an SMG pushing him if you can’t snipe him while he’s static. His guards are tough though. They’re juiced usually.
my scav had shit gear so i just decided to do a quick factory run to reset it. i'm just running around, doing my scav thing when i see tagilla's unlooted body just sitting out in the open. i start looting furiously and then i hear "haha fuck you" and get shot in the back of the head by a pmc
i think some dude killed tagilla and just camped his unlooted body just to troll anyone who tried to loot it
my group killed him and his guards earlier. i'm not sure how we did it because i looted one of the guards and he had 60 rounds of igolnik on him
They’re like bots a lot of the time. They only give me trouble when they’re in hideout. Now Gluhar and his boys in reserve? They tactically flank and push you from different directions. It’s wild
Seems like the AI has been tuned up like a mofo because of people like this
Reserve is a terrifying place, or so I've been told. I've still never been there
Even shoreline, my group ran up the super noisy metal stairs to do that one satellite quest and got absolutely destroyed by other pmcs from the windows
Yeah I didn't love that
it’s good to do shoreline as soon as you unlock peacekeeper. Pay the 7k and move on!
Honestly shoreline seems like it could be pretty fun for pvp. I ended up finishing that quest alone with nothing other than whatever shitty pistol you buy from prapor.
Now that I can just buy pretty much anything from the flea market, I love the smgs. Mp7, mp9. Even with basic ammo, they both just destroy the average pmc. And if I lose? W/e I'll just buy another one
I'm not sure what the right answer is but making people wait so long to use the auction house is kind of dumb imo
Its largely dependent upon spawns. It’s a fun DMR map for sure. Power/Pier and in between is fun at times too.
If you spawn near resort you’re golden with an SMG but if you spawn tunnel or road to customs it gets a little rough getting to resort. I don’t love that map because by the time you’re done questing on it you’ve probably ran it 30+ times.
It is most fun early wipe when people are in there with m80 and 7.62 PS ammo.
I got shot in the head while I was eating a cracker in the woods on this map so I'm sure it is
played for a pretty big chunk of time tonight. i still like the game and will continue playing but bsg needs to crack down way harder on cheaters. my group of 4 just got head/eyes' one-tapped by a dude laying on his left click with an ak and what i assume was a 60 round mag. we were all spread out enough that there is no way a regular player could do this. this is the most egregious but it seems like it's happening more and more
also Taco Sa1ad if you need money, scav on interchange and hit the caches around the outside of the map. pmcs don't really bother with them because they're fighting each other inside the mall and trying to get gpus or whatever, so you're only contending with other player scavs.
also when an air drop happens, i don't think people in the mall can hear the plane, and at the very least it's a super long run for them to get to it, depending on where it drops. if they shoot you from 150 meters away or whatever, good for them. you died, but you didn't pay for anything either.
i've watched a few scav guides for lighthouse but you need to be able to kill the rogues and have a good backpack, which just seems like more of a pain in the ass than i'm willing to learn
I've got around 500k rubles and $100USD...honestly I am focusing hard on trying to beat these starter quests now. Struggling big time haha. I've gotten Jaeger's note thing 3 times on Woods and been killed each time after it. Trying to get that...so I then can craft/buy the shotguns and first aid kits.
Was reading some guides on starting off and they were all like you should just try to complete the quests and get to lvl 15 as quickly as possible.
player scav behavior is getting worse as this wipe gets older. honestly i don't think i enjoy anything more than killing a player scav who shot me first
What's your average time spent on a raid? I know maps have different times but I always feel weird being in a raid for like 25+ minutes. Maybe my rushing though is why I die when I do die.
There’s no reason to rush on any map but customs. Customs has natural choke points that you want to have good timings on otherwise you do go slowly. Woods and Shoreline are slow paced especially when questions. It’s why my old crew called it Boreline. Shoreline is great in teams though because you can guarantee action. Our 4 man would camp gas/pier and power in 2man groups and rotate to each other as needed.
Interchange used to be that way when Killa only spawned middle of the mall but when they changed his spawns it changed the dynamic of the map in a major way. Used to be that KIBA hallway, brutal, mantis, ADIK, Generic, Rasmussen store area was just balls to the walls every single raid. Like we would SJ-6 to Mantis and Brutal and set up positions for an ambush. It made “InterBANG” crazy fun, but also incredible frustrating to quest on.
End of wipe when they do special events is great too. 2 wipes ago they put every map boss on Reserve with 100% spawn chance. It was WILD.
Also as you learn more about the maps you'll be able to move faster, if you want to
Another question - what am I supposed to do with player dog tags? Are they valuable for anything other than resale?
Once you reach certain reputation levels with traders, you’ll be able to barter with them. Some items require dog tags above certain levels
You can get an mpx from peacekeeper level 1 with 7 tags over level 8. With where you're at I'd just sell them tbh
If anyone is looking to party up, lmk. My friends have been MIA lately.
I'm sure I'm late to the party here
ap-20 with the double barrel is so fun
I assume this will be nerfed soon
So what are everyone's thoughts on Scav AI? Like sometimes I can walk up behind them, slowly aim at their face, and get a kill. Sometimes I am wandering through woods, never hear anything, and get one tapped in the face from 50m. Is there any rhyme or reason for this? It feels like it only happens when I want to raid with my best gear haha.
5 raids tonight - 3 PMC and 2 Scav.
1st PMC - Spawn and run for ~3 minutes and game crashes.
2nd Scav - Spawn, loot one hidden cache, and then get shot by a player Scav in the leg...who then sprints away. Not bleeding out but can't heal. End up "running" for 12 minutes and can't make an exfil bc of my broken leg.
3rd PMC - Run around and loot for less than 5 minutes before running into a fully zooted PMC.
4th PMC - Spawn and run near factory back corner...kill one scav before having a second Scav rock me from the side (less than 5 min).
5th Scav - Run for 20 seconds and the game crashes.
Yeah I am done for the night
the aimbotting seems like it's getting REALLY bad.
still playing somewhat
i just died to a grenade that bounced 3 times
good for that guy
Using the green round ones to tactically push is a favorite tactic of mine
i still don't understand how to throw grenades in this game. sometimes they go where i want, sometimes they bounce off a wall right back at me
Yeah they’re unlike any other game I’ve played
been playing quite a bit lately
could just be this stage of the wipe, but questing solo is so much better than with a group. ymmv
why do the m4s suck so bad on full auto? still rip at range though
i've been doing the scav kill quests so i kind of know how the ai will act but every once in awhile they do something weird. i got 1-tapped with buckshot to the head by one while wearing an ulach. no yelling as i stomped near him, just holding a corner on customs. dead to blunt force trauma like 60 seconds into the map.
my fence rep is 3.66 and there hasn't really been any difference in the loot that my scav spawns with
flechette still rips
i still suck at throwing grenades
pmcs still playing at this point seem to either just destroy me, or are obviously new players
Magnum buckshot from ai scavs are like 99% of my deaths
i get the idea (i think) that 1/20 scavs will be super dangerous
i don't love it when he head/eyes me from a bush with shitty ammo
Oh im with you. I can’t tell you how many times on customs I got killed by pump magnum buckshot scav while in a group of 4. Totally random. It’s why I ran kiver faceshield early wipe to combat it because I was over it.
Will be jumping into this with a friend by the end of the week. I have not played a PC shooter since America’s Army when I was in middle school (game was dope.)
what do we need to know?
it's gonna suck for awhile
Pretty similar premise to the game, Vigor? Just a lot more detail, with some survival health aspect?
never played that. it's super late in the wipe so it might not be terrible to learn stuff now
https://mapgenie.io/tarkov this will be your friend
learn a map or two. most of the early quests are on customs so that's going to be one. explore as a scav
you're gonna die to scavs until you figure out their behavior. and even after that you're still going to die to them randomly
DO NOT shoot other scavs when you're doing scav runs
i'm sure there are a lot better beginner's guides out there. or you could read this thread and my journey from being total dogshit to slightly competent
Pain. It’ll be good to be acclimated because the game doesn’t truly start for you until the next wipe.
i will say that in terms of games i've played, there's nothing quite like a great run. whether it's questing, lighting up scavs, lighting up pmcs, whatever
oh yeah, and then there's the loot. that's what we're all here for anyway
oh and IowaHuskerFan3 don't bring those m4s into your first few raids .people like jplaYa are going to take them
Be prepared to invest 1000 hours before you’re comfortable and be prepared to not enjoy other FPS games after you have. The adrenaline rush and dopamine kicks are like nothing else I’ve experienced in a game. I stopped this wipe after hitting 43ish to try Lost Ark which has been fun but I’ll likely return to tarkov after the wipe because truly there’s nothing like it.
I will unless it’s mid to late wipe and your tag infers you need it more than me haha
mother of god the mdr rips
too bad i can't reliably buy more than 10 round mags
I feel like a damn idiot bringing in a pistol to PMC raids. Have been doing scavs a lot and finally getting a couple extractions just by random ass luck seeing the green smoke.
game is intense, I still don’t think I’ve died from a real person yet though, but I’ve only done like 2 pmc raids.
