This is going to be my favorite game of all time. I already know it.
how do you guys usually spread out your special?
I like to load up on Agility and Stength for VATS and Carry weight. Other than that, I distribute pretty evenly.
Usually no luck, high INT and Charisma. The rest are distributed pretty evenly. Tag lock pick, speech, energy/small guns.
Love me some energy weapons.
ya, I feel like I gotta have lock pick, science, and speech high so I never miss out on stuff.
I just was wondering if people ever did like 10 Luck like Todd Howard did in the demo
I think I saw an interview where howard said luck will play a larger role. I.e. vats crits
I just started playing a New Vegas run and made 1 INT and 10 Luck. Finding a lot more caps and ammo in containers. I also seem to be getting more criticals. However, everyone tells me how dumb I am at the mere sight of me and I can't hack anything.
I'm pretty sure in the older versions (Fallout 1 and 2) you couldn't even complete the game below a certain Intelligence threshold because you literally couldn't hold a conversation with any of the NPCs.
Started playing 3. No idea what I'm doing.
Invest in intelligence. Luck is pretty much useless.
Get lockpick, science, and speech up if you want to see everything.
I'm going to play 3 again as a huge asshole.
I'm playing through New Vegas for the first time. I'm like level 13 or so, at the part where you have to go around to all of the different clans.
I kind of wish I had done a more interesting build. Energy Weapons, repair, science, and medicine are what most of my points are in. I wreck anything that doesn't 2-shot me, especially with Rex.
It's a cool game, and the story is pretty good so far. Really my only complaint is that the crafting/repair system is not very intuitive. Maybe I missed a tutorial somewhere.
Update: at Helios One, found a Follower of the Apacolypse and suddenly became more retarded. I lost the ability to use pronouns and apparently how to hear as well because I kept calling the Followers of the Apacolypse the flowers of the alpaca cliffs. Also referred to soldiers as shoulders and solar panels as shinies. Managed to get the plant up and running again, so still more intelligent than Fantastic.
Also, I was storming black mountain and found a radio to talk with Tabitha but didn't have the necessary charisma to convince her that the super mutants were revolting. I chose an option labeled [dumb] and she thought I was a super mutant, called me a dumb-dumb and told me to play with a shiny.
Try changing the difficulty to hard if you haven't.
Started new vegas for the pc. I have it for the ps3 and had made it pretty far through the game then got busy and never finished it. Apparently I'm gonna need an upgrade soon. Shit appears out of nowhere a lot. ED-E and Boone will start blasting at some shit that I can't even see. Hit VATS and it shows up.
Luck is great. Them criticals will fuck a bitch up with a quickness. Shoot a deathclaw and it takes like one bar. Critical hit and a third or more of its life is gone.
I don't think you did. I don't get the crafting system either. Would really like to do something with all these empty bullet cases I'm toting around. Repair is pretty easy. If you've got another weapon/armor of the same type, you use the inferior one to improve the condition of the good one.
I figured out that you can recycle used casings into ammo, which is pretty nice. I assume the rate gets better as your skill increases. Energy weapons use a lot of ammo, and it's like 30 spent rounds turn into 4 fresh energy cells.
Look for repair benches (I think that's what they are called). If you insta-travel back to Goodsprings, there are two different ones along the right side of Chet's general store.
All of this can be looked up online, obviously, but any system that requires you to waste mats to learn it is bad
In the View Distance tab, set Actor Fade to at least 8. Turn off shadows and any water shit.
I assume this makes me hit for less and makes enemies hit for more? To me, that's crappy way to increase the difficulty , but I'll probably do it
1.) Do you need gun powder or anything? I've recycled energy weapon ammo but nothing like 9mm, 20ga., etc.
2.) Hard adds a lot more to the game. Stimpacks no longer heal broken appendages, you must eat and drink to stay alive. Some other stuff, but can't remember. It's not you do X% damage less and they do X% damage more.
Also just started playing.
enjoy fellas... enjoy
do the side quests and get lost in random places/vaults
fallout.wiki is your guide. it will answer all your questions and help you out when lost/confused/wanna find loot
that sounds like hardcore mode instead of just the hard difficulty level
Its been a long time since I've played 3, wasn't there a spot that was like super mutant home base? You couldn't assault that right? Like the rad level was just too high and would kill you very quickly.
Fallout wiki is so awesome to use, but I would recommend trying to play your first play through without even looking at it, if at all possible. Makes the experience so much more enjoyable not knowing what to expect. Once you've finished most of the main quests/side quests, however, its so awesome to use to discover cool new shit.
Showing more gameplay footage at Quakecon in 2 weeks.
I liked fallout 3 more than new Vegas mostly because I thought the exploration was more interesting. But wiping out the fort with Boone is too damn fun
this video is the same video from E3 but seems to show more stuff
lol, I will kill Preston and take his big ass gun
Yeah, fuck Preston Garvey. Lucas Simms would wax that ass.
with power armor and carrying stuff to build settlements and upgrade guns, seems like Strength will be a crucial skill to have high

Pretty much maxed out my Fallout Shelter, already deleted the app since there wasn't much else to do, but Deathclaw attacks sound pretty amazing. Game could really get addicting with the right updates.
man I want a video from the conference
Preordered the download on PS Store today. Pretty excited for this
Just wanted to check in and say I love Fallout and my peter is hard just thinking about 4
Replaying FO3 with 1 strength/Perception/Agility and Max INT/LUCK/CHAR... good lord combat is hard.
Character's name is NERD. Kinda fun playthrough though
this song came on a station I was listening to, could see it on Fallout 4... same guy that did Butcher Pete
Anything Inkspots is Fallout approved.
I wonder how many perks there will be.
You're a kind and gentle soul.
It would be really fucking cool if Bethesda could go ahead and release a couple more gameplay trailers.
Since I'm completely new to the series should I play shelter?
