Remind me what happened to the Indians face.
well that explains just how crazy peggy is, jesus
Didn't peg throw tea or coffee at the hotel?
Was that the hitmen brothers that threw down with Malvo from season one playing catch?
:( Gonna miss this show.
War Pigs during the shootout scene was great.
Good on ya, Jeff Russo. Music for this season was nothing short of outstanding.
well i for one think thats the best season of tv ive watched
Thought the same thing.
So...who does/did Hanzee turn into with his new face?
Holy fuck at this....it has to be.
Lester Nygaard obviously
Hanzee says "kill or be killed, head in a bag" in that scene at the baseball field.
The Fargo mob boss Mr. Tripoli says the same thing in season one. Is that Hanzee with his new face?
Loved Milligan to the cook: "We needa get sum merican food up in (unintelligible grumble)"
Gotta be, the name on the fake identity the guy gives to Hanzee is Tripoli.
So basically I'm going to go ahead and assume that the UFOs were an unintended consequence of Hank's universal language and were essentially called to visit because of it.
It seems like he should have aged more, but there is no way that name is coincidental.
And I'm assuming he recruited Numbers and Wrench at the baseball field.
Just watched the scene from season 1 with Mr. Tripoli. Says a bunch of stuff that's just about identical to what Hanzee said in the bleachers then closes with exactly what Hanzee said in the bleachers about kill and be killed, head in a bag, that's the message.
Simply amazing show.
Feel sorry for those who didn't get in on it
So Hanzee turns into a disgusting fat fuck that runs Fargo and gets slaughtered by Malvo? That's a little disappointing.
Hoping season 3 is about Milligan saying fuck this to his current situation
Hell of a transformation but not inconceivable with some surgery and a lot of fat
Season 3 is going to be a few years after season 1. No idea if they're going back to some season 1 characters but that's the time period.
Think I'm going to go ahead and start a rewatch of season 1 while all the stuff from this season is fresh, plus I only watched in broadcast form the first go round, I always pick up more when I can binge one straight through.
I liked that this happened. Thought it was pretty cool.
Liked, but didn't love, the finale. Phenomenal season though.
agreed, previous episode seemed like it should have been the finale. could have added ed dying, peggy getting taken in, indian changing identities to the end of the last episode and it would have been perfect
Anticlimactic I feel is too harsh but it was definitely more uneventful than I expected. I agree wholeheartedly the last weeks episode could've easily been the finale with just a few more plot lines tied up. All that being said I'm not going to complain, it's still the best show on television.
The "War Pigs" scene really made me feel like there was still a lot more blood to be shed as Hanzee hunted down Ed and Peggy.
So I definitely did not catch this, I heard the line but thought it meant something else...
When Milligan and the Kitchen brother walk in on the guy from Buffalo trying to take all the silver he says to Mike... "remind me which one you are again? Kid Otto had with the maid?"
Now, if we assume the "maid" is the Indian woman working the kitchen then we can probably assume that Hanzee is actually Otto's son.
Add that context to some of the scenes throughout the season... Bear having a nice discussion with Hanzee while Dodd was away saying how he felt Hanzee was family. It seems nice to us but to Hanzee it's insulting because he IS family.
When I heard the line initially I just figured, OK, Otto knocked up some maid at one point and there's some bastard son wandering around. Makes a lot more sense that it's Hanzee and the rest of the Gerhardt's either didn't know (they tell a story about Otto taking Hanzee in off the streets) or they just deny it because he's an Indian.
goddamn it now i'm gonna have to go rewatch...totally went over my head
Didn't Dodd call Hanzee a "half-breed" at some point too? Would make sense then.
and a mutt in last week's episode
I don't think so when you consider the whole spiel that the guy went on about the rise and fall of empires.
Loved that they brought back Carradine, Tolman, Hanks, and King for that scene. Was such an amazing intro, IMO.
Overall, I loved the finale. I didn't expect it to be all carry over from last week. I'm glad we got closure on almost all of the characters, especially Hank.
I also loved how Mike's prize was to be relegated to an office. Felt identical to Vic Mackey's fate.
Hanzee eating that rabbit raw seems very similar to how Tripoli eats his seafood. So many connections.
Not a shock but Hawley said Season 3 won't air until Spring 2017
I bet they need the winter to shoot, and this winter is too soon.
You are correct
“The reality is you won’t see it in 2016,” Hawley said. “It’s a winter show for better or worse. There is not time to shoot another year before this winter is over.”
The third season will be set in 2010, four years after Season 1, but will not include any of the first season regulars as primary players in the action. “That’s not to say that one of our stories might not intersect with characters we’ve seen before for a certain period of time,” Hawley allowed.
I kind of looked at it like Breaking Bad. Gilligan has said Ozymandias was really the finale in his mind, and the final two episodes were almost an epilogue to the novel.
But, I do agree. I was hoping for bit more... gravitas. Or something like that.
Sucks it won't be back until 2017. I completely understand, but it still sucks.
Just finished it. Really liked the finale, loved the season as a whole.
Like all the Gerhardts but Dodd > Bear
Milligan definitely my favorite character. Stole every single scene he was in.
One of the best seasons I can remember on TV.
Finale was a little bit of a letdown...and seemed like it was 60% commercial breaks.
[email protected] The key takeaway from Fargo season 2 is that Ted Danson invented Emojis.

What a fantastic season of TV.
I get based on the pacing of the series why some would look to the finale through the anticlimactic angle, but I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed all of the twists and only now realize that there was a lot more to the story than was on the surface.
I kind of like the Hanzi-Tripoli stuff and how it further ties the two seasons together.
Also, lots of theories on the aliens and time correction that I find interesting, but I don't believe they are relevant or intended.
Some Yellow King level stupidity going on over there.
Which reminds me, take notes, Nic Pizziloto
I wish we'd have gotten to see Karl Weathers one last time, even though he didn't fit into the theme of the last few weeks. Having said that, that means his last scene was his conversation with Betsy which is an incredible wrap to his limited role.
catching up on the thread and it's a crying shame that this post went unnoticed
5 eps in...hopefully will knock the rest out tomorrow night. Noah Hawley is the fucking man. What a show.
Interestingly enough, according to his imdb page, Noah Hawley is working on an adaptation of Cat's Cradle.
