Probably only good to be in theaters for 2-3 weeks but obviously the box office is irrelevant and was never the point
it's kind of bad for lionsgate tho he asked them for equal marketing so $125mil, which they obviously didnt give him anywhere near that but they will still take a decent loss
Took my boys to see it Friday night. My 8 year old loves reading these books and listens to the audiobooks too. Movie was spectacular. I cried 2-3 times
Watched Longlegs and liked it a lot. Glad I waited a while, past the initial hype and then everyone saying it didn’t meet the hype. Just got to watch it and enjoy.
Daniel Day Lewis returns to play professor X in a Taika Waititi reboot of the X-Men franchise My guy probably blew all his money on fine leather and rare essential oils
i think its not shocking but Joker 2 is a bottom 5 movie that I’ve seen this year, coming from someone that tries not to shit on movies too much Joaquin was good again but Todd clearly was upset at some of the takes after the last one and took some liberties with the character that I wouldn’t have Gaga was so underutilized in a movie that was mostly a musical without fully committing itself to being a musical. Like the entire soundtrack was just a redoing of Frank Sinatra’s discography.
Todd Phillips was so mad at us for not appreciating his brilliance of copying other peoples work I’m just upset that this is how we get Gaga to make new music
I agree he didn't deserve it. but that was up for reasonable debate. and then he just does the same character and the movie gets panned and now his performance in the role will be viewed completely differently. odd choice. but I guess he makes plenty odd choices.
the amount of weird holiday double features one can put together this year is quite high. releases are all over the place during that 2 week stretch
i think the gigantic pile of money will assuage any concerns joaquin might have about an award and performance he probably doesnt give much of a shit about
Just watched What You Wish For Directed by Nicholas Tomnay 2023 1hr 41min R A down-on-his-luck chef with gambling problems flees to a Latin American villa, where he assumes the identity of another man. Now that was something different. If you're gonna watch it, don't watch the trailer. I read elsewhere that it spoils it.
