Hoping to see Anatomy of a Fall tomorrow afternoon or Sunday afternoon, very much looking forward to it
Killers of the Flower Moon is one of the best of the year. Incredible to see a filmmaker like Scorsese at 80 tackling subjects like this with so much evolving perspective, challenge, and self analysis.
Did anyone watch this? Stephen Graham is in it, unfortunately, and it is also a single take movie, BUT it has a decent score on Metacritic.
I've heard there is an amazing musical scene in the movie that sounds epic in theaters. not sure how interested I am in the story, but if people say it is worth seeing, I suppose I'll go
Catching up. New Indiana Jones was genuinely great. Welcome addition to the series that does not include shia. Bottoms also incredible, wish it made more money as it was in the lane of 80s teen comedies that we don't really get anymore.
I always replace Costner with Kurt Russel in my movie memories. Except for Perfect World. He gets to stay in that one
DeNiro is too campy and you can tell he was only on set for like a week. Connery doing one of the most inscrutable accents of all time. I can't deny it was entertaining, just not very good.
Michael Fassbender stars in The Killer, a new film by David Fincher. Now playing in select theaters and on Netflix November 10.
Learned a lot from that movie: Attorney-client privilege, how easy it is to be seduced for blackmail purposes, and most importantly, if I'm ever walking outside a high-rise downtown office building and happen to hear a seemingly inconsequential guy yelling something like "Every single day you guys are blocking this alley with your flatbed truck stacked with soft cotton bales", I'd better pay attention. The next day I could be needing to jump out of one of those office building windows in a hurry.
Anatomy of a Fall was solid, def enjoyed it and found myself discussing it for a minute with another guy as we walked out the theater. Yet, also thought my expectations may have been really high due to the RT critics and audiences scores both being 95+, while i also remember being really intrigued by the trailer. Would definitely recommend it, though, and it's not necessarily a movie you have to see in a theater in case that helps, as i did have to pee once due to it being quite long.
I’m seeing it Wednesday regardless. I’ll either catch the killer next week in a theater or on Netflix.
Watched Totally Killer last night on Amazon -- was really funny and enjoyable. Lots of DCOM energy with some murder mystery mixed in.
Yeah, I was the same. Listened to all the good reviews for it and then was horribly disappointed by the movie when I saw it.
Saw killers of the flower moon last Saturday, an early screening of the holdovers with a special Alexander Payne Q&A after on Tuesday and the Killer on Friday. Was a pretty great week at the movie theater for me.
I've never seen it, but user Space 's favorite movie is now on YouTube for free. For the record, Tom McCarthy is one hell of a director -- The Station Agent and Win Win are very solid movies.
The second one was so fucking lame. I’ll give it another shot if the original Director joins back in.
I've tried my best to not name drop but I was at a dinner with Tom McCarthy once after he had won for Spotlight. I shook his hand and said "congrats, the cobbler was incredible." He was... not amused.
