Diego is on some absolutely bat shit insane wages for a manager who plays shit football. Also no way he is one.
Two UCL finals, three Europa titles and managing a domestic title against Messi and Ronaldo? Who cares how much he gets paid or that his style sucks, that's insanely impressive for someone with half the budget
He doesnt have half the budget. Look at their spend. Is he smart in the market, absolutely but he's not operating on some shoe string budget and to say so would be disingenuous. Again, I don't care how impressive his resume is, he belongs on that list for sure, he just should not be number one.
Net transfer spend is 10% of the two teams above them over the decade...how is this part even debatable?
They spent over a billion dollars and have 1 trophy worth a fuck to show for it. Not saying he isn’t a great manager or a colossal douchebag but he’s #1
A decade of consistent success with unique tactics and low net transfer spend brought a club that was largely irrelevant into the same group as the two biggest clubs in the world at the time they had the two best players in history I can't stand his teams or his tactics but voting for him is totally reasonable
Lukaku put the team on his back again. I fear he will need a 5 goals in a game type situation or win a trophy or something perhaps INT'L to get elevated to discussion for top ~3 in the world.
Diego's tactics are not unique at all. Transfer spend is in no way an indication of how good a coach is. That's business not coaching. Not sure how this is confined to La Liga and simply ignored Bayern, City, Liverpool, PSG and the list goes on.
Team Simeone. Atletico was not good when he took over and he had to compete against peak Barca and Madrid. To win the title and come within seconds of the Champions League with this roster is remarkable: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Atlético_Madrid_season Him and Klopp should be tops and you can make a strong case for either to be #1.
PS the "voting" isn't really "who is the best coach of the last decade?" and then people vote on it. They just aggregated "who is the coach of the year?" points from the 10 years. Pep would've won if he hadn't sat the year out
I would pick Klopp as well. I'm not sure I put Diego in the top 5 though. But I can't dispute that he gets points for longevity. No one else on the list can make that claim even as baseless as it is.
I think the biggest testament to both Simeone and Klopp is that you never hear a bad thing about them from their players or ex-players and their teams will run through walls for them.
Anyone who has been to San Francisco and enjoyed the best Mission burrito from the famous El Farolito on 24th st will know the story behind US Open champs 1993 which was owned by the owner of this taqueria.....pretty cool story, he passed away https://blog.sfgate.com/soccer/2021...pez-passes-away/?IPID=SFGate-HP-Editors-Picks
If you weren't in the Serie A thread already, Lukaku and Lautaro have lined up opposite Ronaldo and Morato. Inter up 1-0 in the 35th.
While I in good faith can't agree with this comment as it was a well deserved red. The Son is a cunt these days and his father is a rich cunt of the highest order who has some blame in the shambolic recent years of being a shit show of a club when he started sleeping with Nathan Dyers wife.
