Yeah he played both spots in college and after that draft the team said they liked him at center, and then add in that Myers has been a guy that everyone knew wasn't getting a second contract for years always - and there was speculation that could be the direction they go.
Another move that's confusing to see how all the pieces fit. He's played most of his career in the slot which is where you are expecting to play Bullard
Other things to know about Aaron Banks He has two huskies and a pitbull mix. The dogs are named Waffles, Pancakes and Beans.
Sounds like Hafley just wants a bunch of options to move guys around. While this is confusing with Bullard also being slot, they are different body types and it should make an instant impact on the run game
I posted this in the Draft thread but I think this explains free agency moves... There will be ample opportunity to address Edge, DT, WR (later) CB and O-line are going to tougher. Several of those in the top 100 at corner are either slot or have injuries too. People hate the idea of banking on development from Van Ness and Wyatt, and better play from Gary, but that plus addressing in the draft is probably the best route for this season.
My decision tree in the draft: At 23: Harmon, corner they feel good about, or try to trade back 4 to 8 spots. (I don't see them dropping out of round 1 as host) If trade back is possible: Kenneth Grant Round 2: edge, corner or wr Round 3: any of the aforementioned positions not selected Want no part of Shemar Stewart (Mike Tice and Charles Robinson scared me off of him in their pod last week). WR I want most to complement what we have Higgins
I don't see them making a decision to not trade out of the first if they don't like how the board falls just because the draft is in Green Bay.
Shemart Stewart completing the unproductive yet wild athlete pass rusher trilogy makes too much sense RG - LVN - SS
Unfortunately the above take was based on him having dicks for hands. Maybe playing for the dreadful Stanford teams in recent years led to concentration lapses I think my ideal 2nd round wr take is Noel.
Brugler latest mock: Green Bay Packers 1 (23). CB Will Johnson, Michigan 2 (54). DT Darius Alexander, Toledo 3 (87). WR Elic Ayomanor, Stanford 4 (124). Edge Barryn Sorrell, Texas 5 (159). G/C Joe Huber, Wisconsin 6 (198). TE Thomas Fidone II, Nebraska 7 (237). LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Kentucky 7 (250). QB Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
Will Johnson would be sick at 23 My favorite for the pick now is Shemar Stewart. Gutey loves athletes and this guy is a freak, don’t care about his college sack production.
Johnson is a steal there if he can stay healthy. Makes me nervous replacing a guy with repeated injury issues with another injury-prone guy though.
Hell if Jihaad is there I'd be fine with that because he's could be legit elite. Maybe the pass rush gets home more often when the outlet is covered, or that pass rush rep is a couple yards longer because you got a run stuff the play before. He and Cooper next to each other would be sick
Supposedly Watson dad and brother hosted some watch a long last night and was upset about the pick to say the least.
Yeah he's a goober every once in a while but I don't think enough can be said about Mark Murphy's Packers' tenure. Excellent steward of the franchise. Glad he got that Golden moment last night. Triple crowd pop was awesome
It was so cool to see the same spot that I used to tailgate in front of a sheet metal stadium and a team that was dreadful for two decades turn into what happened last night. Admittedly was in tears when that pick came off. It just really hit me. Murphy should legit be considered for the hall of fame in some capacity.
After watching some things on Williams I’m a fan. That WR room is full though not sure what happens but I’m excited.
There was a CB run right before us there in the 3rd. Savion will be more of a gadget/h back/tight end
I'm not sure if football is the best path for Doubs with his struggles with mental health and his concussion history
Town Hall Meme: 9th all time in pbu's is insane considering he's a relatively forgotten player legacy wise
Looking at the players deemed "losers" outside of Melton and Heath and there is a theme - all players that have significant draft capital involved facing competition for their livelihoods and need to step up. Feel like Schneidman is a little quick to cast off the opportunity available for Bullard if he's good enough to force his way on the field and it's the others like Hobbs, Valentine, and Nixon that need to find their spots elsewhere. No idea if Hopper is a lost cause or not but imagine he's in line to be important on special teams and perhaps work into a role by year 3.
