Lyrics arent fire or anything, but that beat is
Mmmmmm the feature. Big fan of Amine
Same. 1.5 is in the regular rotation.
New Blu and Exile album out today.
Below the Heavens is still a classic.
below the heavens is what I usually go too when I’m in a hip hop rut.....amazing album
One of my favorites of all time.
Pusha T is taking your song idgaf who you are. His features are fucking automatic
What in the world
I’m sure he’ll never rap again!
I hope he doesn’t
I came. The sample is from one of my fav music acts, The Bad Plus (jazz group).
Push did some social events in the area when COVID was beginning. Was literally handing out food and shit. I'd love an album from him not saturated with pharm refs.
Not happening imo
I can’t even begin to explain how much I owe Guru and Premier for elevating my love for the genre.
HBD Guru, Above The Clouds
new album is good just listening at home while I work all the way thru, quality
I think I listen to Brothers Keeper at least once a day. It never gets old
Can anyone tell me what the first 10 second sample is from?
that reminds me of this, such a great loop. when going to look up the sample it was from an Australian funk rock band. I mean there's a reason why guys like 9th and Pete Rock are the best but it still ceases to amaze me
What a cool exchange.
not as cool as this is possibly
Would have loved this as a whole damn joint
^^ dope song
I really like "The Climb Back". "Lion King on Ice" is ehh
He’s rapping his ass off no doubt but he always does. It’s just sometimes it’s boring. The Climb Back has some crazy bars though. Lion King On Ice is garbage
I’ve come around on the climb back. I do wish Cole would branch out wrt production
I HIGHLY recommend giving this a go it’s crazy good jazz/rap
Boldy James/ Sterling Toles
I'll just say it. I like this Logic album. Hated his last few albums but this is actually really enjoyable and seems to have a lot of thought behind it
Now that you’ve said it I’ll say it this a fucking solid album. The beats are super good and he’s killing it with the rhymes.
Plus it’s honestly a super nostalgic ride because of how he’s wearing his influences on his sleeve and paying tribute throughout the album with wordplay and beat switches. Not to mention a GOAT shows up
Odds it's actually his last album?
Do future mix-tapes count?
This Logic album is really really good. Love all the nods/shoutouts to OutKast, Nas, etc
I mean, production on No Pressure is absolutely fantastic and the way Logic is handling the song writing by paying homage to his heroes and just keeping a positive vibe without being super cheesy just feels good.
I honestly listened to this on a whim expecting to make fun of it but man am I surprised. It’s bright and breezy and good. I’ve only ever listened to Under Pressure with any consistency and enjoyment but No Pressure is a much better effort than even that.
Production samples Erika Badu, Kanye, The Roots, Gold Watch by Lupe, Elevators and Spottie by OutKast and others and just about every sample involves Logic paying respect with his rhyme style or wordplay. Lotta ways it’s conceptual in that regard.
Bout to bump that new Ski Mask
Here is Lupe rapping about Dinosaurs and its strangely dope and fascinating
I didn't know where else to post this but this is a vibe and y'all should check it out
JohnLocke havr you gave this a spin yet?
this album is super good, guys. Boldy works perfectly with the jazz instrumentals
