Yes. A friend was there from before they opened and quit. Also, my parents went last week(before I knew this) and said it wasn't that great. But I wanted to try it before I found this out.
Went to St John for the first time in a bit on Saturday. It was good but their menu is so reduced now. Also, the Costco gc for there are great.
Isn't it the priciest restaurant in town, even pricier than St. John? I was shocked when I glanced at the menu a couple of months back.
Man we had a blast. It was definitely crowded with the Rowing race but it wasn’t unbearable. Downtown Chattanooga is a really, really nice downtown area for a city of that size and we loved the walk-ability of it. puckets for brunch before the aquarium was pretty damn good. Got the brisket hash bowl and it was amazing. Good environment for the kids too. The aquarium was cool and the kids loved it. Perfect for ages almost 5 and 3. the Tennessee valley train ride was a little boring and my kids were on fumes that afternoon from skipping naps. But it was still pretty cool. Really pretty views this time of year. We picked up Lupis for dinner and ate at the hotel and watched football. It was solid. rock city was probably the highlight. Just unreal views up there and a perfect hiking distance for the kids. The kids absolutely loved it. overall it was a perfect getaway for us and I highly recommend any young family to make the weekend trip. We will be back in the future.
They are legit if you got one on city property. If in a Republic lot you dont have to pay but they will tow/boot after a couple unpaids.
They messed up my license plate # on the ticket so the ticket also shows a different vehicle/color than mine. Not sure if I should tell them to fuck themselves or not since they got me in what I thought was a legit parking space.
We were coming back from Knoxville one night, and stopped at the Pickle Barrel. Not a soul but us in the Republic lot. There was a ticket for sure on the window for not paying. He never paid it, I think they sent it to collections. Can't 100% remember what he told me.
I like St. John’s but not enough to pick it over The Meeting Place next door. Taking the wife to Boccaccia tomorrow for her birthday. Love the food there.
Sister's family did this exact thing last week before our Thanksgiving in Dayton. Then Dad took them up the incline on Friday.
Were you on the street or in a lot? If all the info is wrong you should be able to get out of it either way. Republic is fucking terrible and like I mentioned and the poster below they will tow/boot/send to collections.
You know it is the same kitchen right? When St John is on they are hard to beat. I do go to MP more often due to HH and less stuffy.
It was on Patten Parkway and they've got some work being done so it's confusing. I parked in what I thought was a parking space and ran into Lil Mama's.
That is a city ticket. I would call the number and see what they say regarding the wrong info being listed. Guessing you aren't from here so fighting it would not be worth it in court.
Yes hence my point. I’ve probably done St. John’s a handful of times and MP more than I count. St. John’s isn’t my scene…….yet. Ha
I live in Chattanooga. The ticket is only $36, so I'll probably just pay it after calling them about the info being wrong. It just pisses me off because there was no way for me know not to park there.
Are there any new restaurants that are a must? I’ve been away for a while and looking at putting together an itinerary for our trip home in a couple of weeks.
I don't know but I've been seeing the bourbon drops in and around Chattanooga and miss it badly. Think we are heading up next weekend so curious of the new places. I'm sure we will end up at tremont or bitter alibi regardless
Proof is good. Not sure how new it is since I don't get out anymore, but I went last week and really enjoyed it.
ive been just once and it was toward the end of the night and they were out of almost everything. love the concept of the place and backstory though so would definitely give it another shot
I haven't been yet, but have heard great things about Agave & Rye. Taco spot in the place where Blue Plate used to be. There's also a pretty new spot called Hello Monty down on Main next to La Altena. Don't really know much about that one, but I think one of the owners used to be an owner of Blue Plate as well; know at least a handful of their staff is now at Monty.
Ate at Agave and Rye last weekend. Not my style but cool interior. The specialty tacos were huge but $8+ per.
Any of you had Tata’s Grill before? I picked it up tonight for the first time and I’m still trying to gather myself. Bosnian place in East Ridge.
It is on my list and I have heard great things. Might try and get out there today for lunch. What did you get?
I had the Balkan Style Philly and my wife had the Cevapi. Both were excellent. Make sure also order a side of Lepinja bread.
What's the golf course situation in and around town? Going to come in on like a Tuesday afternoon and looking for something to play at like 2/3 o'clock. Going to sweetens the next morning.
Public courses in town suck. There are some fantastic private tracks if you have a connection. If you go public, play either Bear Trace or Nob North. Both are 30ish minutes outside of downtown
Those would be my first two choices, but last time I played Nob it wasn’t in great shape. Depending where you’re coming from, Trenton Golf Club has a nice little track. Scenic, but short. If you’re coming up 75N, Field’s Ferry is in Calhoun and it’s really nice.
In town for dinner.. What's the spot? Want to branch out from Il primo. Public house/urban stack/feed table and tavern all look good.
