Is this the year we finally admit that Thanksgiving food is trash?

I have a couple of hot takes that I’d like to get out there. I’m not looking for debate.

Green beans and all of its variants suck. 98% of casseroles suck.

Thanksgiving dinner is solid. Not amazing, not awful, but solid.

 

Been doing our turkey for years in the big easy air fryer, comes out great. I like not having to dispose of any cooking oil too.

 

“Creamy Carrots” scares me. Carrots are fine. Why we creamin’ ‘em?

Brother is on the Omaha fire department. Most years they need to put out a fire from fried turkey. Often it’s from people attempting to fry a *frozen bird*. People are not bright.

Also, several times per year I make a bacon lattice and wrap it round a turkey breast and smoke it. Good sliced as dinner or chopped and mixed with bbq sauce for sammiches

 

disposal is easy. you just pour the oil down the kitchen sink it helps clean out your pipes

 

I’ve never heard of creamy carrots. Candied carrots on the other hand -

 

Them little turkey , deviled egg, cranberry sauce & stuffing sliders tomorrow are going to be the bees knees.

 

Honestly I'm looking at them and they don't appear creamy at all. Hell if I know. I'm washing dishes occasionally and staying out of the way

 

Already have a turkey in the chest freezer awaiting Second Thanksgiving.

 

This is basically my recipe but sub raisins for the pomegranate seeds.

 

This was good actually for the guy who said mac and cheese shouldn’t be at Thanksgiving

I was zooming in on that dish and drooling. Whole plate, really.

It doesn't happen often but it turns out I was wrong. For the first time tonight I had tasty turkey, it wasn't just ok or acceptable, it was quite tasty. Ham is still the superior protein so I don't think my reputation should suffer from this revelation.
