Besides all this, Golden Hour is just an incredible album that doesn't deserve to be skipped. I feel this way about Same Trailer, Different Park as well, but that one doesn't get as much love as Golden Hour.
My wife listens to country radio and I don't.. When I heard that song I went to her and said please tell me this dominates the radio. Just an amazing song.
This new album isn't even the same genre of music imo. Quite the departure. Maybe she'll come back in ten years and make a killer indie record with the National.
Basically the same story for me. Was riding with somebody who listens to country, and that song came on. Was just blown away with the talent and songwriting ability compared to the other shit playing before it.
Maybe my favorite Kacey song. The blending of genres is so perfectly done. That post chorus banjo is just too perfect.
Just stumbled across this version and I might like it better than the original, and I love the original.
More general annoyance than a dislike was the story, at least at the time. The busking incident outside of the CMA’s is apparently the genesis.
I'm digging this album. Very understated. I like several on first listen already and that's usually a good sign for me.
You’re getting this all from Saving Country Music speculation, and that guy has been butt hurt over Sturgill for years
It’s been multiple places, and I don’t really see why it matters what he thinks of Sturgill. Sturgill’s great, Kacey’s great, and it’s an interesting rumor.
For those of us who don’t watch Desperate Musicians of Nashville, what is this rumor that you all seem to assume everyone naturally knows about?
Its just strange if it's true...she wrote the song to mock Sturgill in defense of the CMAs? While Sturgill was out there raising money for the ACLU and slamming Trump
After the first listen, it seems like she’s singing into the void about issues related to her divorce. Not really anything special musically.
