Just caught up on the latest episode and that was impressive range from Gata
Is Dave funny
it’s not not funny but it’s getting better as the series goes and he becomes more comfortable as an actor
I don’t want to say that you’re welcome but it was my pleasure
What is this a chick fil a lol
I think it's pretty funny. It's not a straight comedy, but there's a lot of humor in it. One of those shows you either really like, or probably dont care for at all.
There's definitely some really funny scenes but it's not a straight comedy
Most recent one was probably my least favorite. Still enjoyed it though.
I love the show but wish it had more of his music in it.
Those Burd Bombs were uncomfortable.
Liking the show but it's definitely way more serious than I expected
Haven't watched the show but it reads like the Atlanta thread during the first season.
Is this a good thing? Cuz Atlanta is awesome
Oh, I love Atlanta. I meant more on the show breaking a lot of the presumptions made about it going in.
It is similar in that regard but it's a very different show
Very different show but still an accurate statement.
you know it’s a bad episode when someone named trippie redd has more lines than gata and dave combined
I thought it was solid for developing two of the secondary characters but barely showing the main character was weird
it was like a less good version of Atlanta’s non-Ern episodes
I want to criticize it, but at the same time we all know what lil dicky music is like and we should not be surprised at this getting weird for a while. Also felt like they shoehorned some Dave Burd into other characters lines this week.
I wouldn’t say bad, just not as good.
I liked it. There werent any over the top hilarious parts. But I thought it was a good episode. Just different.
I’m enjoying the show. The last episode was...different. Not really sure what to think. Episode three was ridiculous. My wife and I were choking at the last scene.
Show's definitely better than I thought it would be. I wouldn't call it "great" but pretty much every episode has left me saying I'll watch next week too. I think it's got some potential since we all know where the story is going to go.
where is it going to go
up your butt lol
Really enjoyed the Els episode. The wood shirts killed me.
I'm curious to see if they accelerate Dave's career as is or if they go down the "Molly" path and we deal with a break up.
I thought this weeks episode was a delight, those two had great chemistry
Feels a lot like Atlanta to me....Which is a good thing. Episode 3 was one of the funniest episodes of TV I have seen in a while
It makes sense, LD and Glover have similar paths in the industry, Glover just happens to be one of the most all around talented humans alive.
how are their paths similar
Glover was a writer/actor too, but both started with non serious rap then moved into more writing/producing there own stuff. It's by no means parallel but there are similarities.
Didn’t LD go from rapping to acting? And Glove acting to rapping? Wasn’t it the opposite?
Glover's first mixtape came out before Community, but his rap and acting careers kind of took off at the same time.
Dicky was an accountant or something like that before he became a rapper. Glover was in a comedy troupe and was hired as a writer on 30 rock but was never really a comedic rapper - he actually started touring as childish gambino a few months after he released his first EP
but he was a writer on 30 rock first
and LD was an ad writer
They both have curly hair and beards.
They’re both young black rappers so they’re basically the same.
I just kinda realized today that LD only has one album out which is now almost 5 years old.
He just needs time to create
Like Earth or hate it he still managed to be at the head of a project with like 25 of the biggest names in pop. Plus developing a TV show and touring. I don’t fault the guy with limited resources relative to a music superstar for not putting an album together in that span.
it’s 2020 and the need to put out an album to gain revenue is no longer. he tours, has endorsements and releases one-off singles that get 20 million views in their first 24 hours. He’s doing just fine shying away from the traditional model
He made a path while those mother fuckers drove straight
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lots of people do it. nobody listens to OKGO because they put out fun albums
hipsterjoe ’s head
That was a really good episode.
Enjoyed it a lot
