For lack of a better word, Steak tostada with roasted poblano, caramelized onions, street corn, and fresh guac
I was still so hungry afterwards. Trying to not be such a fat ass anymore so really cutting back on portions.
Stay disciplined. I spend a 1/3 of every year losing weight and 2/3 thirds putting it back on. Have done so for the last 20 years. Currently in gaining season.
I’m glad you brought this up. Discipline is key. I’ve been dedicated to putting on weight 3/3 thirds for the last 20 years.
Was sharpening my knife today and it slipped on the last pass and got 3 knuckles. Stage 4 gusher But those sharpening skills
I have their chef's knife. Very sharp out of the box but I think it loses it's edge quicker than some others I've had. It's lighter and thinner than I expected as well.
I’m a big cookbook guy. Kinda depends on what you are looking for. These are a few off the top of my head I use often that have tons of great interesting recipes while still being approachable to cook. The World eats here Nothing Fancy- Alison Roman Homestyle cookery- matty matheson Simply Symon Suppers- Michael Symon The mesa cookbook-Bobby Flay Healthy, Lean, and Fit- Gordon Ramsay I also love books that are cookbook format but are more for reading/interest without being like a traditional cookbook that you would make a lot of recipes out of Faviken 4015 days- all the recipes ever cooked at Faviken. Facinating to read but you can’t cook anything from it, unless you can source shit like a 3 year old reindeer smoked in sheep shit from sweedish lapland. The nordic cookbook-Magnus Nilsson- ive made a handful of things from it but its more like an encyclopedia of nordic cooking with thousands of recipes The food lab- Kenji Lopez- a favorite of many. You can learn a lot about cooking with this one. Italianissimo: Italian cooking at its best- Pellegrino Artusi- similiar to Nordic cookbook but for Italian.
My favorite that I own is Ad Hoc at Home (Thomas Keller). It’s thorough and interesting and an approachable level of cuntiness (family meals).
Looking for gifts for my wife. Any cookbook suggestions, specifically pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan? Any other must haves are appreciated. We have food lab, wok, both Sean Brock’s, and a few Anthony Bourdain’s.
Zahav by Michael Solomonov is outrageously good and many recipes fall under pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan. Vegan: The Cookbook by Jean-Christian Jury Plant-strong by Rip Esselstyn
Going to try making bacon wrapped dates. Are all dates created equally, or do I need to go somewhere special to source?
I prefer medjool dates for stuffing. They are long and boat-like when pitted. Great vessel for activities. Mix some goat cheese and chorizo up to stuff some with and become a legend.
They’re the most commonly available and usually the least expensive dates. Should have it at your grocery but a central market type store will assuredly have them.
This is a Bobby Flay recipe I've made for years and am doing again this year for xmas. http://www.recipebridge.com/recipe/...-ricegoat-cheese-stuffing-and-red-chile-gravy
Wife did sweet potato and leek latkes with curried yogurt this year that was really freaking good. Still can’t beat the og with sour cream and applesauce though.
Just confirmed with Misipasta that they will be shipping my From Roy chocolate panettone tomorrow for delivery Thursday. Act fast, if you have the means.
I need to procure one but we have a bakery here that is famous for them and compare to what I got at una pizza last year that they imported from Italy
