Rees would have not had bear visit. Duece takes all these gameday visits end up committing to auburn. Rees works to flip him until next season. Bear gets annoyed and commits elsewhere. We steal Washington state’s qb commitment at the last minute.
In 2022, his dad was staying at the same hotel as my family in San Simeon, California. The place had a fire pit area next to an overlook that dropped about 15 feet to the ocean. I ended up having a few drinks with him. He seemed to be a genuinely nice guy, despite naming his kids Tiger and Bear.
Also, explosive plays are more sustainable over a season than you would think, because they are a combination of talent + play calling, and right now we have both looking for huge variance plays Sustained drive success in college football is extremely hard. That's what people miss in the whole "Rees is a great play caller" thing. Sure he's good at designing run plays that get 7-8 yards that look like pro style run plays that makes Dan Orlovsky lose his mind, but college football is a game where you need variance and explosive play success; that's why we were always hanging around late with shitty teams - you take away the deep bombs to Tyree and Tobias and we're in a 10 point game in the 4th quarter against CMU this week. But we had 3 40+ yard passes that were all vertically designed plays, when I think we had like 2 or 3 all of last season, and the game wasn't close
Also why I love watching the Elko defense. Makes you do a 12-13 play drive and like we saw with Clemson - super hard to do that without a really strong qb.
““First off I’m big on relationships,” Knight told 247Sports. “I think relationships played a key part into the whole recruiting process and thats where I had the best relationship. Coach Freeman was the most involved person in my recruitment from a head coach standpoint. I talked to Coach Freeman three, four times a week."
Brian Kelly probably doesn’t talk to his wife 3-4 days per week, let alone a top recruit. His caddy on the other hand…
Not a great time for ND folks to be calling out murderers Separately, if our gameplan to curb red in the stadium is green wristbands…
I enjoy the beat asking questions about the tickets sales thing.. umm, don’t sell your tickets dickheads, not much Marcus can do about that one.
that's way short of the deserved 5* if that little bitch arch manning (whose dad never did SHIT) can be #1 overall for no other reason, no reason a HOF'ers son who looks the part can't get similar treatment
Jack has referenced a full scale gameplan to try to alleviate things, so I imagine the green wristbands are part of it. But it’s gonna have to be a whole lot more than just that
I have always thought you lose your season tickets/lottery if they find those tickets on resale sites. I though that used to be the rule.
Now that Seat Geek is the official secondary market partner of Notre Dame (lol) my guess is there's no desire / want to penalize people My guess is they're going to dim the lights as low as possible on the crowd and rely on noise and the green bracelets to not make it seems super embarrassing
For the lottery even just getting moved to the bottom of the list for the next year would help. my family used to be terrible with like 8 alumni - they would have so many tickets for every game hoping everyone could make it and always had to sell some.
In other news, jumped on some really cheap Foley’s tickets for this weekend that randomly hit Seat Geek today. So we got that going for us, which is nice.
Just got the email for the wristbands. They are going to try to have them say something asking people not to trade them with people in other sections. Should be interesting.
Are people really expecting ND to penalize donors, even small ones, for listing on our authorized secondary market? That's financially detrimental in multiple ways. C'mon.
We used to do it at a time when there was actually insane demand for Notre Dame tickets. If you don’t think that lesser demand nowadays plays a role, I think you’re being naive.
Back in my day you had to walk through White Field with a couple fingers in the air and pay $300 per ticket in four different sections and then squeeze children on parents’ laps to watch a Bob Davie ND scrape by Arizona State
They stopped enforcing that about 10 years and then outright encouraged people to sell tickets (including partnering with secondary market vendor) if they wanted to.
thoughts on ND love the Deuce pick up - he's the perfect QB behind Carr - high high upside (love the comparison to Nico) with athletic ability and a really strong arm. Legit questions if he will stick to ND because of the whole southern thing but w/ the transfer portal, it's definitely worth the risk the deep balls from Hartman are so amazing, he reminds me so much of Clausen from a passing perspective. The accuracy of the throws and the timing when the ball gets there - there's a reason why Golden Tate won the Blitnikoff with Jimmy at QB I'm happy Freeman let the young guys keep playing on defense even though they were clearly messing up...this is the type of game we can do that yes yes, it was sloppy at times on both offense and defense but we let Hartman go bombs away and forced OSU to really prepare to defend it or they are going to get burned. Tobias and Tyree both have the speed to make them pay I really hope Tyree returns for 1 more year, he's made a big play every game this season Blake has got to be hurt, there's just no other explanation for how he's regressed this year
Ofd pod talking about the gameday guest picker. Miles Teller seems like the best realistic pick Taylor Swift is the best dream pick Holtz is hell.
