i bought a ticket for thursday, and i forgot what theater and can't find my email confirmation. This is going well
My favorite part of TLJ was Sergeant 'Salty' Sharp. Who licks the fucking ground? No one was wondering what the ground was made of.
That video was awesome, I've been harping on the "Luke not fighting Kylo is the most purely Jedi thing in the series ("a Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never for attack") for two years. Fuck those neckbeard manchildren who cried and cried because he wasn't a "herp derp badass"
“Guys, in this scene Luke will use a Snapchat filter to fake a message from Leia! The kids will love it!”
"It's you who are the neckbeard manchildren. Not I, the guy who has been writing longform articles about Star Wars for 25 years."
Does anyone else think that maybe the heist episode of the Mandalorian is really a sign that The Rise of Skywalker is going to be terrible? No? Am I just making shit up to be edgy and contrarian? Get an avatar? What does that even mean?
Been a fan since 1995 when I got the THX remastered trilogy on VHS, with Leonard Maltin interviewing George before each movie.
Regardless of what you think of both, this week we get both a new episode of a live action SW show and a new saga film and I think that’s pretty fucking cool
Got tickets to Friday 8am showing at an Alamo Drafthouse. If they don’t have some Star Wars themed omelets or something I’ll be letdown before the movie even starts
Vader was planning to overthrow the emperor with Luke at his side. Sidious had been looking for a replacement for anakin as soon as he got injured by kenobi on mustafar and Vader knew that.
part of me hopes those absurd spoilers from a couple of months ago are true just for the shitstorm but i'd rather that the movie be good
I saw that menu last week and the Dark Force cold brew cocktail martini thing is delicious. faintly remember when I went to opening morning of TLJ they had some Star Wars breakfast specials like the Tatooine Cantina Hash Skillet IIRC was what I got. Hopefully it’s not just the standard brunch menu
Fair warning Spoilers will be rampant starting tonight. If you've watched Star Wars videos on YouTube be wary of spoiler filled videos with titles that give away big plot points. Also reddit always has spammers who send private messages with spoilers. Because people are the worst and cant let others enjoy nice things.
I'm pretty much going to have to stay off Facebook, YouTube, probably even TMB and internet in general. Not seeing it until Sunday night.
Every Disney Star Wars movie has had at least one absolutely killer action scene TFA: the lightsaber fight in the snowy forest RO: Vader in the corridor of death TLJ: the throne room battle Solo: The Kessel Run
you'd think it would be bannable or at least warrant a little vacation but apparently not. dump's sorry ass spoiled the ending of game of thrones and nothing was done.
Early reactions seem pretty mixed but mostly positive overall. Big theme seems to be you won’t be happy with this movie if you loved the decisions Rian Johnson made in TLJ. https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/12/17/star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-first-reactions
I was entertained by it. it was deep or anything, but I've watched it multiple times and always enjoy it. granted, Emilia Clarke helps.
solo was much better than I excepted but I expected it to be salty garbage so that really wasn't difficult I guess
I had read some GoT spoilers a few months before the final season which at the time I passed off as ridiculous fanfic. After the final season I realized I would have been much more satisfied with what I had read than what I had watched. I read some supposed spoilers for RoS awhile back and felt the same way. Lets hope that what we actually see doesn't make me feel the same way
not a surprise, JJ said he was inspired by TLJ to be more bold with the finale. Personally I loved TLJ but I've never seen JJ stick the landing on any story so I'm worried if he can do a "final chapter" justice after making his bones in Hollywood as the ultimate "chapter one" guy
I think the cum blast of ships led by the millennium falcon to me sums up what it’ll be an utterly ridiculous fan service-y but ultimately fun movie
heading to the theater now. I'm almost nervous, I really hope they put out a good finish to this story.
