I believe you are correct. I like to think that if they ended up with a Finn/Poe relationship that they would do it cautiously and "right", not just have them have some inappropriate scene that breaks the flow of the movie. Poe just saying something like "You wanna be gay with me?" would be terrible.
there are a large number of people who are going to be upset no matter what. Personally I'd rather my favorite movie series decide not to take up the mantle of taking on social issues, but if they do, I just hope it doesn't end up breaking the flow of the movie like artoo said.
Im starting to hope they're gay because the only thing worse than having to hear all the bitching about it would be having to hear all the bitching for nothing.
The Finn/Poe "relationship" and people complaining about not enough female characters in the movies makes me question where movies are going. It seems no one can ever be happy, so let's just make movies that are PC and won't piss off the internet.
sounds like the re-shoots are to add a bit more humor/"fun" to it. Article in spoiler, not actual spoilers. Spoiler Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will undergo several weeks’ worth of additional shooting, sources have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. Much of the cast and director Gareth Edwards will regroup in mid-June for another round of shooting. The move is happening after execs screened the film and felt it was tonally off with what a “classic” Star Warsmovie should feel like. The pic has not yet been tested before audiences, but one source describes the cut as having the feel of a war movie. The goal of the reshoots will be to lighten the mood, bring some levity into the story and restore a sense of fun to the adventure. Rogue One focuses on the fabled mission hinted at in Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope, that of a group of rebels stealing the plans to the Death Star. The plans later end up in the hands of Princess Leia, who transfers them to R2-D2. “This is the closest thing to a prequel ever,” a source tells THR. “This takes place just before A New Hope and leads up to the 10 minutes before that classic film begins. You have to match the tone!” And while it’s not confirmed, some suggest that the new shooting could pave the way for an appearance of Han Solo as played by Alden Ehrenreich. The actor only recently nabbed the role of the spice smuggler and was not involved in Rogue One’s principal photography, which ran from last August to February. Disney re-introduced audiences to Star Wars with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which garnered excellent reviews and grossed over $2 billion worldwide, becoming the third-highest-grossing movie of all time. Sources say that while Edwards’ first cut was a solid showing, it didn’t measure up to the bar set in terms of four-quadrant appeal. “Anything less than extraordinary won’t do,” says a studio insider. Reshoots or additional shooting are practically a given in this decade of tentpole comic book, fantasy and sci-fi moviemaking. The films are massive productions, filled with so much green-screen and fit together in a way that, more often than not, demands for shooting to fill in holes or clarify plots. Even acting deals have the shoots in mind when contracts call for “run of show” appearances, which include not just shooting anytime during production but even during postproduction, say several agency sources. The New York Post first reported about the Star Wars reshoots. sounds like what is often done with these things. You finally put it together, realize something is missing, add stuff to fix it. Not "oh my god, this movie is awful has to be salvaged a la Fantastic Four" like the initial report made it sound. I understand wanting the Star Wars feel, but a Star Wars war movie pretty much makes me , so I'd love to see that cut.
People need to accept that a SW theatrical release is not going to be dark. Sure, movies like this one and Ep 8 will skew darker but we're not getting something close to Nolan batman here.
I don't think it's out of the question to want some of these anthology movies to be a little out of step with the Star Wars formula. I'd never expect or want a main saga movie to be like that.
