We are same on the first part and I'm terrified of the second part. My wife takes care of the kid (13 months old) while I'm at work and struggles with just about everything. I'm very concerned that he will fall behind developmentally due to the constant challenges they have together. It's a very sensitive and exhausting dynamic that hangs over our everyday life. This isn't how they portray parenthood on TV or in the movies.
Try to find a mommy-baby class they can go to together once/twice a week. Worth the expense to have trained professionals interacting with them. Not all women are naturals. My wife filled my son's days with activities, but dropped a couple balls.
what was originally supposed to be 2 weeks turned into a month and change wife had work and family issues that kept her in l.a. for a couple extra weeks but finally today I get to hug my son holy fuck this has been brutal
How's your relationship w your brother? My 2 boys are 16months apart (one is ~17months, the other 1month). Hope they get along. I was raised w one sister 22months old and we fought a lot growing up but now are close.
Baby Taffy #2 was born on Monday morning, natural birth 2 hours before cesarean was scheduled to take place.
LOL, it took me by surprise too, thankfully the wife has taken the lead on little girl plumbing and cleaning. We are anticipating our first menstruation episode with our oldest foster girl. I am praying I'm not around when it happens considering she has the emotions and mentality make up of a 5 year old.
Ah. Im thinking about wiping my 2yo. Im going to pretend i never read your original post or asked the question.
Wife just picked one of these up for our 3 month old. I'm impressed at the quantity of snot I can get from his nose compared to the classic nose sucker things.
Wait, don't you mean front to back? Back to front would seem to pull bacteria (poop) into her hoo-ha. Having a girl in 6 weeks and wiping is one of my biggest fears.
Our son was born last Thursday at 7:08 Pm. It's been awesome. Lack of sleep sucks but getting used to it.
They do work great. And it's not that gross when you're the one actually using it. But watching my wife or someone else use it makes me gag it's so disgusting.
so how young is too young to put your kid in one of those tumbling/baby gym type places? ours is almost 14 months and wife found her on top of a cabinet in her room yesterday, so thinking it might be time to find her a place to expel some energy
We have been taking our son to a weekly little gym class since his first birthday. I think the class he is in has an age range of 10m-19m. He absolutely loves it.
Goddamn. Look at that setup. You were asking for this. The chair, the low shelf then the higher shelf.
My wife and my nine-week-old son have been out of town visiting her family since early Sunday morning; their flight arrives today around lunch time, and I can't wait to pick them up. It's been tough being away from them (and especially the boy) for that long so soon after he was born. However, as someone who never had any great-grandparents, I'm happy my son has had a chance to meet all three of his living great-grandparents, and even if something were to happen to them tomorrow, he'll always have pictures of them holding him on this trip. So the verdict is: tough, but worth it.
Been out of town working for a week and headed home tomorrow, to a house full of sick kids at 2 and 1 y/o. Fully expect to be sick within hours of getting home
Despite popular belief that men are worse parents,it turns out women are twice .as likely as men to commit child abuse
welp, the wife and i decided to find out the sex of the baby. not really my style but doing so will help relieve some of her anxiety. we have an appointment this coming Friday where we'll learn the news. on top of that, we've been looking to buy our first home for a while. we're in a comfortable rental situation right now and we were planning on staying here until the baby was born, but we just learned today that our landlord is selling our place. life just got a fuck-ton more stressful.
7 year old's leopard gecko just died. RIP Neon Deion . Not looking forward to this conversation first pet to die since my kids were born.
May go bearded dragon this time around. He was pretty upset so I told him we would get a new pet. Going to wait a few weeks don't want him thinking pets are disposable. When I told my 5 year old he died he just shrugged and was like go get another one.
have had such a blast with the boy after a month without him now onto the negative in one fucking month the in-laws completely destroyed the year and a half of perfect sleeping we built he's been an absolute nightmare when putting him down for bedtime and it's taken every ounce of self-control to not hit them with the tirade of all time
It just took 45 minutes of tantrum before i got one of my girls to calm down for a nap. She's exhausted. I thought she was finally sleeping but it turns out she's singing some little mermaid song. If she wakes her sister i'll be really pissed. It's bad enough that she's going to inevitably be a nightmare this afternoon :/
So it turns out me and the boy are a lot more efficient without mommy around. I'm sure it will be nice to have her back, but we had a great time.
Hilariously, we read a bunch of books together this weekend and he very much enjoyed them. I guess I needed to be a little more interactive.
