Who's watching this final season?
elevator scene was the best part of the episode. so much history between Peggy/Joan
its amazing how shitty joan has become.
I was glad to see Cosgrove get a measure of revenge.
It was a quality episode but outside of Ken getting fired, it didn't feel like the first episode of the final season (not technically the first episode of the final season but you know what I mean)
I was expecting more.
Yeah not a lot was set into motion, don't know how they're going to wrap this up w/ only 6 (!!!) episodes left
6 episodes left absolutely sucks. Did Don just think that waiter favored the woman who passed away and was drawn to her because of that?
the opening scene was fucking amazing.
Girl was fucking hot
Don was a straight pimp
and then it turns out all the other guys is sitting in too.
Girl was ridiculously hot you are right about that. Don gonna Don
The first girl in the fur coat is Andie MacDowells daughter.
Good genes in that family.
Felt like that could have served as a send off for Ken, but I hope not. Really want to see him back on the other side of the table making Pete and Roger's life hell
didnt feel as a send off to me, if they wanted that, theyd just have him write his book imo. Maybe you're right though, we shall find out.
maybe he will shoot pete in the face
Eh. That seemed like a lot for a send off. Him talking about being a bad client as revenge seems like he'll be around some more. Possibly off screen. Should be funny either way.
I liked the first episode but I agree with what was mentioned above in that how are they going to wrap it up in six episodes? It's obvious no matter what situation Don is in he is never happy. Will he end back up with Betty? Will he just one day not show up for work with no goodbye and you see him on the beach living a stress free life?
Weiner mentioned that they'd end the show w/ present-day Don.
"I do know how the whole show ends," he told the site. "It came to me in the middle of last season. I always felt like it would be the experience of human life. And human life has a destination. It doesn't mean Don's gonna die. What I'm looking for, and how I hope to end the show, is like ... It's 2011. Don Draper would be 84 right now. I want to leave the show in a place where you have an idea of what it meant and how it's related to you."
To see Don Draper, still working and trying to sell digital ad space, based on laser-targeted focus group and audience segmentation, would truly be a sight to behold. Of course, one gets the feeling that Weiner is more interested in looking at how the Jon Hamm-portrayed character would have handled the coming decades and changes in his life, not technological changes in his industry.
You should write an adventure book. Do you know how great you'll look on a book jacket?
Roger's not gonna keep the stache the entire season I hope
Roger aged 15 years with stache.
So sick of Joan these days. I get why she's pissed at everything, but damn she is so frustrating. Don had her back the entire time during the Jaguar stuff, and she threw that relationship away because of a perceived slight. She was awful in the premiere.
It's like she was pissed when people only paid attention to her looks and now she realizes no one will take her seriously unless she plays the bimbo role.
Peggy was pissed that men like Joan's looks, Joan was pissed that men will pay attention to Peggy for something other than her looks
Glad there was no Lou and hope that continues
Curious if they will address it. Don had his old office back.
I think w/ McCann buying them out that they let him go. was a nice foil to Don last half season though
well thats because Peggy is butt ugly.
Goddamn Christina Hendricks moves my meter. When she was in that meeting getting her tits talked about and trying on that dress. Just wow.
Really excited to see what they do tonight. I feel like the first episode of the last couple seasons just sets up a "where are they now" sort of thing and a few underlying storylines. I expect something big to happen tonight.
"Should be fascinating for everyone involved".
"It's 3 in the morning, you know why you're here. Do you want a drink or not?"
Yeah, Stan's gonna fuck her
Haha, "you're going to rent pants?"
I'm crying at this on my twitter:
Bunkie Perkins @BunkiePerkins 29m29 minutes ago
Don stalking short order waitresses. Quite the Tiger Woods move.

Don Draper moves to Wisconsin with the waitress. Later becomes the Badgers' biggest booster during the Bielema years.

is mad men the barry alvarez origin story
Great episode. Mad Men does subtle comic relief so well. Marie standing in the empty apartment, Harry saying, "so give me the lay...of the land". All the other great one-liners. I expect the rest of the season to be a little less light-hearted, but this was great.
I know there will never be a spin-off, but having a Roger and Caroline sitcom where they just go at each other the whole time would be spectacular.
I'd watch a Sally Draper spinoff.
But really a 70's era period drama in a similar vein would be enjoyable.
Also, we all know this isn't the end of the Wisconsin girl (Diane?).
Also, the balls on Harry
I have a feeling Don just moves after having his apartment cleared out, not that it's important.
Lastly, but most importantly...
SEASON OF STAN
Stan is the MVP of this season so far.
But seriously, AMC. Roger and Caroline in an Archie/Edith Bunker or Al/Peggy Bundy type sitcom. It's gold, Jerry! Gold!
Mimi Rogers with the MILF tig ole bitties. Not that you can tell by the way they are dressing her. She's just a step below Joan when it comes to
mimi rogers manages to be attractive even when dressing like paula poundstone
Normally I wouldn't care to repost this, but for the life of me I can't place this song. I know I'm going to feel stupid when someone points out what it is, but can someone please tell me where this song is from before I go crazy.
*Edit - goddamnit we can't embed vines anymore.
Liking this part of the season. Hilarious seeing the Dr giving Don shit for all the girls. If he only knew.
I think the speech Diana gives Don about when she's with him she forgets about her other daughter drives him towards Sally these last few episodes.
I think this has been and will be the most important relationship in the entire show.
Obviously his mom situation was messed up and has never led him to be happy. Maybe he realizes the most important female relationship they will make him happy going forward is being important to Sally.
On another note, is the very end of last season and the beginning of this season the first time we truly figure out how much Don is worth? I mean, we all knew he was the best in the business, but handing over a check for a million and Megan saying he was a millionaire when she met him feels like the first time I remember figures mentioned.
Episode starts w/ Don in a suburban home w/ family, ends it alone in an empty apt in the city. Mad men does closing scenes so well.
Don got over half a million when PPL (Brits) bought Sterling Cooper back in season 2. I only remember this because I've been rewatching/skipping through some of the earlier seasons as of late.
Glad they wrapped up Megan and waitress tonight. Nobody got time for that with only 5 eps left.
Still don't think this is the end of Diana. Hopefully it was the end of Megan though.
