Ugh, this will just get more people talking when UFC will likely never allow him to box while he's under contract with them.
Just watched Jon Jones' interview with Rogan. I love watching this guy fight but he is either 100% delusional or does not want to fight anymore. I think he's delusional but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because he is one of the best to ever do it.
"[The UFC] is trying to strip me, well, I ain't stripped," McGregor said. "I still got that belt. That belt's still at my home right now. I'm still the two-weight world champion. Someone's got to come take that off me. "I see articles and stuff online, but I don't see that belt not in my presence. The belt is right there. I've got two world titles in my home."
Curious how you came to this conclusion? I think he certainly wants to fight again. Don't think he's changed that much, though, unfortunately. A lot of what he said was tough to believe. Hope he gets back in the ring.
-Sober for over a year (like 16 months) Will prob drink again at some point, won't smoke weed. -Some sketchy story that's hard to believe about the hit-and-run. Came back to the scene for pot pipe, not money. He didn't even look at the other car he hit and was "over the fence" running away 8 seconds after he hit the car. -Took off-brand boner pills which caused him to pop for estrogen blockers. USADA found the pills to be tainted. "Cock too big" is why he needs the pills...Happy his name was cleared and not associated with roids. Major against roids. Takes pride in being clean. -Loves power lifting -Hasn't trained striking in like 7 months. Loves Jiu Jistu, now. Won't spar hard again. -OSP was hard to fight because he was so unpredictable, mainly because his skills weren't great and he doesn't have predictable patterns. -Has four daughters, wants a son. Thinks God won't give him a son until he is mature enough to "raise a man." Sure there is more, but that's all I can remember after a few bourbons...
Its an interesting discussion for sure. For most of the first hour or so I want to chastise him for being a shit head and throwing away his talent. But the more he talks to Joe, the more humanizing it gets and I kind of empathize with him.
I re-watched the moment when Joe asks him about it specifically and I tend to agree with you. He really stumbles on the question initially.
Yea its pretty obvious he's lying. The big dick line was funny but the only reason a pro athlete is taking estrogen blockers is coming off a steroid cycle. I've watched hours on hours of Rogan podcasts and I've never seen one where it seemed like Joe was grilling the guest. Jones fumbled his way through every single answer. It was also the only time one of the guests brought along a publicist. And he still was terrible at answering joes questions. Hope he can realize he has some demons and tries to come to terms with them because he is the greatest I've ever watched in the octagon
Listened to the first part of it this morning at the gym. Havent gotten to the fighting talk, but that whole story about the crash was such BS. Plus he still doesn't get it. All the 'concerns' he had crashing into a pregnant woman and her baby were because of what it meant for him. I felt so bad for the woman and the baby, I could have ended up in prison for murder!
This Maynard and Hall fight is shameful. Any time Maynard closes the distance, Hall is just falling to the ground in hopes Maynard will follow him. No takedown attempt. No attempt to pull guard. Just falling to the ground. It's pathetic to watch. It's getting to the point the ref should deduct a point for this garbage. The sad thing is, Hall is outstriking Maynard with his kicks.
The fuck was that? Masvidal v Ehlenberger was fucked up. Ehlenberger foot stuck in fence, Herb Dean calls a timeout and judges tell Herb basically he can't stop for that so Herb says Masvidal wins by tko because Ehlenberger wasn't intelligently defending himself (because his foot was stuck)
Should have been a restart. I didn't have sound so I thought that maybe Herb thought he had broke his foot or something
He never said it was stopped, he said time out. He then went to Judges and said "If his foot gets stuck, is that a malfunction?" or something to that effect. Then you couldn't really hear the conversation after that. And then he said the fight was over
Reffing as a whole has been awful tonight. Yves in the Font - Schnell fight. Tognoni in the Maynard - Hall fight. Herb in the Ellenberger - Masvidal fight. Now Yves again in the Cejudo - Benavidez fight.
What a fucking shitty ass show so far, ref blew one fight and judges just blew one. So 3 judges who watched same fight, one said Benevidez won all 3 rds, one said Cejudo won all 3 (third 2-1 for benavidez). What in the heck
