Dana just forcing it now and it's fucking hilarious and sad. He's a piece of shit, solely propped up by a piece of shit.
It is not an every event thing for me but sometimes there are two fighters who have fought in semi legit orgs and train at solid camps so you can kind of come up with some sort of handicap... but I am by no means doing it everyday. In other news this is top MMA content of the day
Finally watched the contender series fight, and the girl that got KOd was just walking straight into punches, and finally the Venezuelan loaded up that big right hand. She was coming in hot for follow up shots too. The ref really saved the other girl
Imagine being so pissed off at someone in traffic you get out to talk shit and or throw hands and it’s one of the best fighters alive
I know it's been discussed, but I'll say it again; weight cutting makes no sense and is dangerous. Saw a clip of Sugar Sean talking about his weight cut, and the fact he gains 20# right after making weight. What's the damn point of having weight requirements??? Weigh them right before the fight, if you want it to be actual.
They used to do fight day weigh ins... That’s way more dangerous. they could do body composition analysis and and hydration testing on the roster and tell fighters where they can fight safely but that will never happen
it is dangerous only because they are fighting in weight divisions maybe they shouldn’t be fighting in
Yeah, did you read the second part of my post? funny we had hydration testing back in high school wrestling but ufc still is in the dark ages
I guess if you're going to do it (they'll never stop until somebody dies, and might not then, either), better to let them regain some strength prior to the fight. If you did it pre-fight, and they make weight, but lose the fight due to exhaustion, maybe fighters would stop?
The fighters will put their lives at risk to get some mental edge about cutting down from a bigger weight. Its why the boxer died and what forced the move to weigh ins ~24 hours before the fight.
Is it in UFC’s hands or the athletic commissions? Hell I’m guessing neither want (and also ESPN) to weigh them in again fight day at the risk of a big fight getting canceled. So yeah capitalism rules again when it comes to fighter health.
TBH I think the UFC was pleasantly surprised when weigh ins moved to the day before just for generating storylines, expanding the media cycle, etc.
Still wish he would’ve completed the Cejudo trilogy before being obsessed with getting Korean and Japanese gamers to watch his Twitch channel, but one of the GOATs
Saw this and than you realize how fast time goes that he left UFC in 2018. Feels like it was just yesterday
Thats what it felt like to me, but then you think about it and it makes perfect sense. Just time flying
